I have same bag, with a harness and rope and all the extras, this bag will no longer zip shut. tempted to get a plastic bin and toss it in that. I keep my hood in my right boot ready to toss over my head, if I don't need it then it goes in pants pocket.. also, look into getting leather suspenders. those nylon ones suck, and you'll notice your pants sagging a lot, feeling like a diaper. stay low, stay safe.

Since I commented, I have totally stopped using the bag for my PPE, I have a hook installed in my van to hang my coat and helmet on, and boots and pants sit on floor ready to go. SCBA mask is in its bag hanging on the door next to my irons.if going from station to station, I throw my helmet on my head, jacket over my shoulder and carry my pants with boot strap. I just unclip the bag from the door with the rest of my PPE, and head to station, if on a call I just reach in bag grab my mask and clip that to my jacket hook. I still leave my gear bag in my truck to hold extra gloves and hoods change of clothes and all important baby wipes for when duty calls.

I don’t recommend leather suspenders they seem to get in the way and are annoying

There is a couple of other brands of scba out there the next major one is drager, I believe there is also a brand called instero
@REDTAILRAY3 жыл бұрын
Yes Scott, Drager, Honeywell has packs now as well and I'm sue there's more. Our Dept. just made the switch to Drager and we love the new style and versatility.

@elijahbeaudry46758 жыл бұрын
No the department issues you PPE gear, department have a whole bunch of used gear, and they still pretty much own your gear, so usually if you were to leave the department they would need here gear back
@REDTAILRAY8 жыл бұрын
no, part of being voted on is all new gear after a year of probation. 8 months to go..
@ianlombardo97588 жыл бұрын
hopefully your gear is within 10 years of the date of manufacture. if not your department is obligated to issue you a set within date.

Once you use that stuff, don't bring that stuff into your house. Full of carcinogens and other cancer causing crap. Don't wash it in your machine at home either.
@REDTAILRAY7 жыл бұрын
Erin Wood thanks for your input and great point. Fire gear is full of carcinogens and other nasty cancer causing agents. Do not bring your gear home, wash yourself and all your hear after every fire. Especially structure fires. The gear in this video was just cleaned and this video was got just before we removed the carpet and renovated the basement. Good point though. By the way, your video on your page was well done.

What should you do if you do bring the gear in the house. My brother was cleaning out my truck with me and brought it in before i noticed it.

Thanks for showing the gear in the bag. Helpful. You could talk so much less and get this done like in 2 minutes, tops. Thank goodness for fast forward.

J&D Thanks for your opinion, although negative; any and all feedback gets put to use in making better videos for the future. While I'm not a professional youtube reviewer, I want to also thank you for bringing to my attention that my video has 11k views. The adsense cash that'll I'll make from this will go straight towards making more videos on more gear for your enjoyment and viewing pleasure. Thank you.
@SuperQueenofbling7 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to be negative. Folks don't have that much time on their hands. You were very thorough in your explanation and I was just looking for what and how the gear would fit in the bag. Congrats on 11K views!! Woot woot! I also respect that you are a fire fighter - thank you for serving your community in that way. (I too am a volunteer fire fighter) Good luck on future videos! Remember, less is more. We just have too much to do! Enjoy your day!
