Firefly New!2023 FFLP Classic guitar review by A luthier

I finally broke down and went with a couple of chibsons,a cherry burst standard LP and a black Angus Young tribute SG with lightening bolt inlays, these two guitars kicked butt on my other budget guitars, even my elite firefly champagne metallic pink, doesn't come as close to the real deal as my chibson LP does, the Angus Young SG is even better with full size pots, awesome sounding pickups, perfect set up no fret work needed, I'm still a huge firefly fan,but it hard to order another firefly, after seeing the quality on the chibsons,my chibson LP has a one piece body and neck too,but it's not a cap, like the firefly uses, you can tell by the sides,that it's a cap on the back over several pieces glued together.

When you say "chibson" (obvs chinese gibson), but are they complete knockoffs that even say "Gibson" on the headstock, or just hi quality replicas with some random name like "firefly". And where can you look for these?

That's definitely a nice looking top, never seen one divided into two separate sections like that. The abalone inlay looks pretty cool too. I've heard a couple of ppl saying that the nut had a plastic look, but found out later it was actually bone. Could have different components on different models I guess. How's the playability?

How do you compare the hot rod seymour duncans? I love the 498t gibson bridge pick up myself and was thinking of putting that on this guitar. Also do you think re wiring should be done for better sound quality ?

Wire no,pot's yes it's a good upgrade, pickups? Well wilkerson and artec make great pickups also so I would compare price not the name with sound demos on amps close to what you use

When it comes to firefly guitars, if you see one in a finish you like, I'd probably just buy it with the mindset that.. It's a $200 guitar, it WILL need a bit of work, but at the end of the day.. it's better than anything else you can find for $200. I wouldn't say it's on par with say.. MIM Fenders or something, but they get pretty close after a bit of work, and they have a ton of unique finish/configurations. They're constantly getting better from what I can tell. Compare a firefly guitar of today to one a few years ago, they're MILES better.

What the hell i have a few firefly guitars. I check guitars garden once a week ive never seen that guitar. Thats the top 2 or 3 ive ever seen. Beautiful guitar 😮 P.S. check all arond the whole side for seams. They put a one piece veneer on back. But it may be a one piece.

@@coinguruministerguitarsgam2889 my last firefly was the smokey burst Les Paul about 4 months ago. My next one if I can will be the finish like yours or the cobra burst. But the smokey burst is kinda close to the cobra not a lot of difference. But I constantly check guitar garden ive never seen one like the one you have here. But I do absolutely freaking love that finish it's beautiful and unique.

Tuners are South Korean Jin-Ho a musical instrument company that makes all sorts of parts Bought some replacements with the chrome keystone buttons from guitarfetish and lo and behold the back is stamped Jin ho

Beware!!! I recently ordered a similar Firefly guitar and there is an electrical problem, non-functional, does not work, also has a hairline crack at the neck junction on body. Emailed with "Aron" in customer service several times and was offered a $20 refund and then a $30 refund. I requested an exchange. Now he stopped replying to emails. Unfortunately, this leads me to believe KZbinrs receive hand picked guitars or they over hype the guitar for more views resulting in financial gain.
