About Alan Tudyk:
Alan Wray Tudyk is an American actor and voice actor[2] known for his roles as Hoban "Wash" Washburne in the space western television series Firefly and movie Serenity, Alpha in the science fiction TV series Dollhouse, Tucker McGee in Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Steve the Pirate in DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story, and Wat in A Knight's Tale. He also co-starred on the ABC sitcom Suburgatory. Tudyk had a supporting role in the film 42 as baseball manager Ben Chapman and voiced roles in every Walt Disney Animation Studios film to date starting with Wreck-It Ralph. He has also featured in the web series Con Man and the films Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

The network must have spent no money on publicity or ads or anything. I never heard of this show until I found it on netflix way later. It was a good show. I don't know why it had no audience until years later.

Spoilers.... I'm afraid to read any of the comics or other stuff, because in Wash isn't dead in my head. The reavers didn't stop to deal with his barely living body as they had living prey to chase. When the troops came in behind, he was picked up to either be used as leverage against the crew or for medical attention. As the crew withdrew, they couldn't find the body and assumed it taken by the reavers, so they built the memorial without a body for closure. Only for a brainwashed Wash (haha) to come back as an assassin in Blue Sun's revenge against the crew of the Serenity... It leaves hope that Zoe could get him back and have those beautiful redheaded babies she wanted.

just watch the 90s TV show "Magnificent 7". most all the episodes of Firefly are basically remakes of that...the characters are all the same, and there are 3 seasons of Magnificent 7 to enjoy... not saying Firefly is bad...i like the show...just is what it is.
