I feel Chromium-based browsers are becoming the next "Internet Explorer". With such a market share difference, developers tend to "forget" testing websites in Firefox and focus only on Chromium. History repeats itself 🙄

for profiles add a -p to the end of the Firefox shortcut location and it will bring up a window asking what profile each time you load it

I go with Firefox. If I have an issue with a URL I paste the link into Chrome. Firefox is the reference platform for the W3C so it is what professional developers use. Chrome is more like what Internet Explorer was like. They had a lot of market share but in the end everyone realized the great ideas they had weren't so well thought out. If what you write works in Firefox, it will work anywhere. Some years back they rewrote the core to super clean code.

My only complaint with Firefox is on syncing issue between windows and android browser. If i add some bookmark or save any user-id/pwd of a website on android browser, then it does not reflect the same in windows browser.

Firefox sucks when it comes to synchronisation. It is so easy in Chrome - you just log in, and thats it - all your settings, extensions, passwords, etc, are back in place, does not matter if you use Windows or linux! Setting up a new profile is also much easier and more pleasant in Chrome.

I really feel like using Firefox, but i find it to be pretty scummy that google made youtube videos on Firefox take longer to load on purpose due to the whole ad blocker drama, as someone who has crappy internet speeds, i'll just stick to browsers like Opera GX and the like.

That's actually a myth, it was an issue with them trying to block ad blockers, it only happened for a few people and you could fix it by simply adding a single rule to your adblock filter list

Trouble is the desktop is dying and alot of companies do not allow you to even install it on their devices. I personal use the browser and its features and find I have alot less issues over time.

If all someone looks at is statistics and benchmarks, then Chrome seems like the obvious choice. Tragedy, because it shouldn't be decided on that. So you wait an extra second or two for Firefox to get to the same point perhaps ... but I'll be damned if I ever sell the contents of my brains to another mega corp. I use Librewolf in relaxed setup. That's Firefox, somewhat enhanced. And I am grateful this exists. The Adblock will work forever. Even on YT. No non grata cookies or tracking to kingdom come. This is my life, my computer, and I decide what I watch, and how.

The main reason why people are ditching firefox was that at one time they were the go to browser for privacy and not working with the EVIL GOOGLE. The privacy thing is gone and they now taking half a billion dollars a year from google alone. Everything their user base came to them for is now gone and so will firefox be soon enough.

I moved away from Firefox because they keep forcing new features. After each update, I'd need to search which flag to turn on to disable new features I don't want (e.g. drastically increased padding so bookmarks menu can only show half as much items). Then after a few more updates said flag got removed so I have to find another workaround again. Extremely tired of that kind of shit. Chrome does that too, but Firefox does that 10x more often.

Any chrome gurus out there? I just upgraded my system ram from 16 to 64gb before I could have about 8 tabs open before I started having browser and system issues now it's about 20tabs. Is it worth upgrading a again to try to get 4or 5 more?

Chrome is about to shoot themselves in the foot with their paid tier of their browser which is leaving a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths so I believe many people will switch to other browsers. Maybe Firefox will get many new users from this happening. Though I could be very wrong and people might not make any sort of change in what browser they use.

If you switch profiles all the time or you're a power user, use portable chrome/firefox. Portable firefox is superior, as it allows you to restore manual backups, inc. extensions, which chrome does NOT. I've found out the hard way this week where Chrome was deleting ALL extensions from the backup folder... This happens when the hash is different (i.e. reinstall windows or different os user), but used to work in the past, which is a ffing bummer, since I got quite a lot of different profiles... So be forewarned, portabale firefox is the way to go for this, as for your main, pick yours.
