For all the people saying this is super easy and belittling her. You do realise she’s a comms officer right? Not operational and she put herself in the firing line infront of all of you and on the fireground to give something out of her wheelhouse a go and if nothing else this shows humility and a good character to put this out here so you all have the info and can be inspired to work on your weaknesses (which we all have). kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaXNfX93rdiZqpY this video says it all she struggles to pull a hose reel in ambient temperature wearing B.A in a straight line then has to have a break to pick up a simulated casualty (35kg). As a fire fighter of 10 years it's alot more difficult to pull a hose reel around a building when u can't see and the temperature in the building has increased to 100s of degrees more than ambient temperature out side, considering the avarage weight of a person in the UK is between 70-83kg (women-men) struggling to be able to drag a 35kg sand bag says it all. When in reality u could potentially have to pull a 16 stone person out witch is no easy task. The standards for fire fighters is dropping and it's putting people at risk to accommodate equality. Got nothing against women joining but that should have to beable to do the physical side of it based more reality cuase when there on a real job it's there life and the life of the person theyv been tasked to save on the line.
@scoobz0072 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, I’d actually say the average weight of people in the UK these days is in excess of 85kg, both men and women. We’re fatter as a nation and the fire service really needs to take that into account.

It is hard enough for 2 strong full grown men to pull a 90kg person out a house fire, 2 women couldn't do it, people would die fact.It's a joke but that's the world we live in, they should have to carry a 90kg dummy in full BA for 25 metres to pass imo
