Established in 1985, the brainchild of three Gibson guitar factory maestros-Jim Deurloo, Marv Lamb, and JP Moats-Heritage Guitars represents a harmonious blend of craftsmanship and musical passion. 🤘🏼 Joining forces with fellow Gibson artisans Bill Paige and Mike Korpak, they embarked on a journey to carve their own path in the world of guitar-making.
Amidst the changing tides of the early 1980s, Gibson faced shifts in production, leading to the closure of its iconic Parsons Street factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A group of dedicated craftsmen, unwilling to uproot their lives to Tennessee, seized the opportunity to establish Heritage. 🏡 Setting up shop in a part of Gibson's former Kalamazoo premises, they began crafting instruments that paid homage to a rich guitar-making tradition under the new banner, 'Heritage.'
What ensued was the birth of a brand that not only retained the essence of Gibson but also dared to innovate. 🚀 Initially offering a diverse range, from acoustic guitars to mandolins and banjos, Heritage eventually found its true calling in the world of electric guitars (like this Heritage H-137 Electric Guitar)! 🎶 The lineup evolved, narrowing its focus to electric guitars while embracing the roots of Gibson designs.
Beyond homage, Heritage Guitars introduced a touch of rebellion with their early electric guitars-infusing modified Stratocaster and Telecaster influences into the mix. 🌟 Today, every chord struck on a Heritage guitar resonates with a narrative of resilience, craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to musical excellence. 🔥🎵

I visited twice. One to get my 67 LP neck replaced in 1980 when it was still gibson. Then in the mid 90's. They turned half the factory into a manufacturing mall. And after making sales calls, I made pilgrimage. Mark was very accommodating. And a lot of the machinery and Luther's were original.
