Years ago I used to make this casserole on Christmas Eve, and cooked it Christmas morning while my family opened presents, this casserole was one of my family traditions! Now my daughter does the same casserole for her family, on Christmas morning.

I have a similar recipe that uses 2 pounds of sausage (I use 1 pound of regular and 1 pound of hot), onions, bell pepper, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1 cup of sour cream, and the cheese. I mix everything together with half of the cheese and then top it with the other half. Super delicious.

I make that for my family on occasion...but I layer the bottom with shredded hash browns, then the eggs, but only 6 eggs and sausage, peppers and onion and shredded cheese. They like it with sausage gravy drizzled over it when it is plated.

Mom has made this for years for Christmas breakfast. She uses both red and green bell peppers and adds hash browns to the bottom layer. For the top layer of cheese she mixes it with half a bag of Sage flavored unprepared Stove Top and sprinkles the mixture on top then bakes the casserole.

Had my first Swaggerty's at the Log Cabin Pancake House in Gatlinburg, probably '79 or '80. I asked the waitress what kind, she said 'it's local, from Kodak, named Swaggerty's". I found it at the grocery off 321 near the Craftsman's Center, been buying it ever since. Now I buy it at my local WalMart! It's for sure my favorite!

I’ve never used Swaggerty sausage. I’ve always been faithful to Jimmie Dean. I plan on making this recipe this week and I will be looking for this sausage. Bob Evans sausage is my favorite. Never tried Swaggerty, though. Jimmy Dean is a solid alternative for me when I can't find Bob Evans. The difference is mostly in the texture, which is something I care about.

okay, so today i made this casserole using 2 rolls sausage with chopped onions, then 24 eggs with 2 cups of milk, and a minimum of 16 oz of orange mild cheddar cheese. at 350 oven it only took 40 minutes to bake. i think it was done at 30 minutes really. but this came out so awesome. then i made some FRENCH TOAST CRUMBLE. i tore up some day-old hamburger buns and lightly browned the pieces on a large baking sheet, then in a huge bowl i put 6 eggs, 2 tablespoons vanilla, 1/4 cup of sugar. beat it, add the dried breads till all the liquid has soaked into them. put 2 tablespoons butter in a frying pan and when its hot, dump thatfireman's

Hi Tammy, I have been watching y’all food a good while, but today I noticed a precious Schauzer puppy while you were fixin the fireman’s casserole. The way you cut your onion is how we've always cut it, I've always wondered why chiefs and others cut it the other way its more work.
