Your portable demon engine is to the left. I hope you love your stay! Nice thoughts on the lore change tho, couldn't agree more. But yes, do stick with the faction that you fine cool. You'll learn quite a bit about them and other factions from just them interacting with each other.

4:50 I would be interested in seeing it implemented in the same capacity as the break-action shotgun: a "Civilian weapon" clutched in the hands of a dead civilian, found around the map and occupying your support weapon slot. I figure if these colonists have double barrel shotguns, they should also have bolt-action rifles. It should be made of wood and forged from iron (then again, the break action should be that way too, yet it's clearly all white and plasticy and metal so IDK).
@JebblesJunior4 ай бұрын
I would even be fine if they fashioned it into a break action rifle like a nitro.

One thing that I'll say is that if they do reduce patrol spawns when we get rid of outposts, then bot drops and bug breaches should be more severe. Someone suggested this change and while I can't remember their name, I think it would be a good change to make. Would be a good reason to not engage in patrols too

I think it's a fine method to even things out like that. Maybe more time in between calls because it would take longer to burn through all those troops.

I gazed at his magnificence, my vision completely filled with his glorious girth. All around me was flesh and smiling flies. Within his bulk I spied lesser minions, suckling on his leaking entrails. At his feet pools of pus and other bodily fluids gathered, in which his children splashed and played with glee. It was a blessing to behold such glory and joy. It was with great sadness that I awoke into a world filled with Imperial dogma and admonitions. I knew then the path I must walk. That doesn't appeal to you @Jebbles

Right now the game changes so rapidly that things flip incredibly IN JUST ONE WEEK! They are trying to play catch up on a timetable that is impossible to do with a small team. But they definitely need to fix planet decay rates, patrols/bases, and update every single gun that is under-performing to be at least semi-performing.

It makes sense that destroying objectives causes the enemy to bring in more forces as a response. However, I think there needs to be a different feel to those new forces. Instead of feeling like just a difficulty increase it should feel like the enemy is responding to the loss of those positions. I think part of the issue is how close the patrols spawn to the player. I think destroying the bases should make enemies spawn farther away. Maybe reduce bot drops/breaches and have patrols head directly from other bases instead of spawning around the player as much. That would allow the players to draw forces away from existing bases and manuever around enemy reinforcements in order to make the next objective easier. That would pair well with making main objectives harder. The risk is that many helldivers, especially new players, would stand and try and fight back the waves of forces investigating the lost outpost. That would lead to lots of deaths and disgruntlement because most people arent smart enough to just leave the area. The biggest complaint I’ve seen leveraged against other helldivers is their relationship unwillingness to disengage once a fight begins. I am certainly guilty of that as well. To combat that there would need to be some sort of information flow. Either a loading screen message that mentions enemies move from heavily defended positions towards destroyed outposts, or something in game that would telegraph this to new players. I also think the devs should group similar mission types within operations. Not necessarily the same mission type, but thematically similar. People who like one mission type often dislike the opposite type of mission and the operations feel like a random group of missions that has at least one type of mission someone on the team would rather not play. But if you grouped them… Let people choose whether to live out the fantasy of being a defender by selecting operations with defense oriented themes and gameplay. And let others live out the fantasy of being hit and run elite strike team by expertly taking out objectives before the enemy can respond with its full force. And let those who want to play as avengers rack up the kills in missions designed so that meeting the enemy head on is aligned with the mission objectives. Maybe add some flavor text to operations so they feel like one step in a larger war. Like an operation with defend assets, evacuate civilians and activate ICMB being framed as a defensive operation where the goal is to save what can be saved from a region and maybe hinder the enemy advance a bit. Where another operation with a 12 minute bughole/factory raid, and 2 destroy structure missions could be phrased as helldivers weakening enemy held areas before a major assault. Having an exterminate, ICBM, bug nest, etc operation could then be phrased as either the main assault or a distraction for the main assault… which could open up the operations to feel like they are connected to what other players are doing. This will also make it easier to come up with new types of missions as you figure out a theme and then add missions to fit into a that theme. Lots of potential here. For example, when the termicide stricture missions were added a lot of people didnt enjoy playing them in every operation. But having operations framed as drawing enemies away so others could activate the towers could have added a sense of meaning to the other missions while allowing those who did not want to raise the tower to feel like they were still part of the effort to do so and part of the team working towards the objective. Of course, I’m not sure how well these suggestions would work with game limitations and they would need to be adjusted for balance, but ai feel there are at least a couple useful ideas here.

Per base busting, as somewhat of an objective capping/base assault specialist YES! Now for Warhammer (40k) good news is there's a lot of games here, some classics, some good, some not so good Personal recommendations are, Space Marine 1 being one of the most slept on character action games ever, Dawn of War 1 and 2 and their expansions (1's Dark Crusade ESPECIALLY) are RTS classics, and Mechanicus is a weird turn based strategy game with one of the best soundtracks ever There's also fantasy, personally I like Vermintide 2 over Darktide despite it being the closest thing I'll get to being in the shoes of a guardsman (Guard being my favorite 40k faction) and Total Warhammer has a STUPID amount of content and basically covers nearly all of WH fantasy Personally per tabletop the models are too pricey to really justify, Especially as someone who loves the guard which requires a stupid amount of models in both amount and to be viable (they are a horde army after all!), I've drifted around systems and found a few I like, but finding playerbases for em is a pain so I left Tabletop gaming as its basically 40k, historical oldbeards (nothing against these guys!), or Uber niche titles.

I've always looked at the spawn and patrol rates after the primary objective is completed as the enemy in the immediate surrounding area of the planet responding to the chaos you're creating as opposed to anything else. As a team you are in such a small section of the planet, but the enemy is far more numerous than you are. I think it makes sense and it's one of the easiest ways to represent it.
@JebblesJunior4 ай бұрын
For me I consider them more slowly mobilized forces. I do think it's fair enough they increase upon completion of the main objectives even if I'm not fond of it. I want there to be more of a point to breaking outposts instead of a detriment to the squad. They could in future design patrol rates around liberation or defense percentage.

I am also looking forward to Space Marine 2 & hoping its going to be good. I am a long time fan of Warhammer 40k and have to say it has one hell of an interesting setting. Regarding gatekeeping you wouldn't need to be concerned with that, the only people genuine Warhammer fans are trying to keep out of the hobby are politically obsessed woke cultists who keep trying to force their politics in to the hobby & then gatekeep out the existing fanbase by demonising them. There are some really good lore channels out there, my favourite is Arch he does really good Warhammer & Warhammer 40k lore content. If you think Nurgle is bad, take a look in to Slaanesh lol.
