My take on the Sabbath: Though I am NOT a believer in ensuring you MUST observe EVERY Sabbath, I do believe having a minimum of a scattering of Sabbath Days throughout the year is as healthy as it is important (~ greater than 5 weeks without the Sabbath I would consider a red flag). If you cannot tear yourself away from an activity, or project, for even the Sabbath, you are in trouble and probably ideologically possessed (or governed by your passions or shackled to some other form of addiction) and are thus breaking the 1st (or 2nd depending on your Religious Affiliation) commandment of "Thou Shalt not have any other Gods before me" (Not to mention the commandment for remembering the Sabbath and to keep it Holy). . Thus, observing the Sabbath is your Signpost, your Landmark, for ensuring that your life is healthy and balanced and in tune with Gods' plan for us. --- I would believe the healthiest of individuals is one who gladly does Sabbath every week and looks forward to going to church/synagogue in their nicest clothes. Being the Sabbath is the Day of Rest - to not work, obviously - it is best to participate only when you _Feel_ like it (maximum of 1 time per week, of course...) - and chalk up the missed Sabbath activities as something wrong that needs to be addressed. Besides, it does not do anyone (Family, Friends, Priest or Rabbi) good to have you moping around and grumbling about doing something you do not _Feel_ like doing on the Day of Rest. The Sabbath is truly your one day of 'feelings', friends, family and Rest (Minus your Hobbies & Work). It is your day of 'Me Time' and by the choices you make _freely_ (without internal and external coercion) will you know the state of your soul, have better internal cohesion between the mind/emotion/soul interface AND you are refreshed in mind, body and spirit (yes, I've dabbled in the bounty of the Sabbath, but far too infrequently in this 'wraith-like' existence I have today) Obviously, I am NOT of the above said categories at this time (sometimes the lack of something is a great teacher). . Perhaps one aspect of the Sabbath, besides the Day of Rest, is being a Mental/Spiritual Health Self-Diagnostic? .
@johncondon46476 жыл бұрын
Funny how it is worded "Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it Holy" kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXzWp3-mf92JiqM It does NOT say you MUST rest on the Sabbath, but to merely remember it. Yes indeed. .

As a woman, I prefer my spouse maintain his attractiveness too. But a bad personality can cause me to lose appreciation for a man appearance. I remember my first boyfriend was extremely good looking--everyone I know was in awe of his appearance. But he was a mean human being and within a few weeks of dating him, he starting looking ugly. A clean cut man with a healthy body is attractive. That's a fact.

The reason sex education is important is simple human nature: ignorance does not stop teenagers from doing dumb things. Never has. Never will. Leave them ignorant of how to use a condom, and they will still have sex, but without the tools they need to do it safely. How do I know? I grew up in a state where sex ed was prohibited and only abstinence classes were offered. The result: though I have 200+ friends from school, I cannot name you even one who waited until marriage, but I can make you a whole list of those who wound up pregnant and dropping out of college. Look up the statistics on "abstinence only" sex education. Look at which states it is practiced in, then compare that to the number of teen pregnancies in that state. If you don't want to do that, look at the fact that most people nowadays are getting married closer to their 30's. Do you really think people are interested in being celibate until age 30?

Greatly beloved Brother Dennis, as a Spirit-Born Christian of the New Covenant, being "The Law of Life," I no longer attempt to " keep the Law of Moses, " which no man can do. For in it's great holiness, the 10 Commandments constantly remind us of our utter inability to keep it, even in the oft sinful thoughts of our corrupted minds. An act of Supreme mercy by our Loving Heavenly Father to bring us to humble brokenness and the placing of our individual faith onto the victorious atonement of "The Lamb of GOD Who taketh away the sins of the world," a thing we can never earn or do for ourselves , "lest grace would no longer be grace." It is He Who Is The Law-Giver that now keeps me. Hallelujah! Jesus Is His Almighty Name, may He multiply His tender-loving grace unto you and yours this day. Amen in Christ.

I dont believe in god-but I do believe in being and doing good. For me its a matter of, this is the only life i get, and I want to do the best with it that I can. I want to have a lasting impact on others that will outlive me. Not to mention-that for people with healthy brains, we get a hit of dopamine when we contribute to the group in some way. This is because we are social creatures, and it helps bond us together. So helping others FEELS good too. So being good makes logical sense, as well as emotional sense. I dont need god in the equation. I dont malign others who choose to do good because of their belief in god however-whatever works. I just wanted to point out that there are ways to reach people who dont believe in god with the message of doing/being good. This is esp important because some people shut down and dont want to listen to you once you bring god into the conversation.

A lot of people bring up the Bible verses on immigration issues. Such as welcome the foreigner, etc.However, if they are to highlight the Bible verses. They should not forget or ignore that also the Bible states that we should all obey the laws on the land. The laws of the land put by men. To honor and respect our leaders. Even to pray for our leaders! But of course, liberals only see what's convenient for them. They will always deviate the truth. The asylum law is what's really a mess in this country. For decades Asylum has been misused. It has not been applied as it should. I think the root of the problem is how asylum rules had been abused.

We need to reduce the inflation and control the costs of cars houses and everything else when rent gets 100 per month like it was in the 70 than 8.25 is enough and I feel your against people who are to old or don't have the ability to improve their skills and yes you can slowly raise the minimum wage it has not gone up in seven years or more so the oners should have plenty of money save up because they know that it one day will go up and the are going to automate most of the minimum wage jobs any way so what you worry about become a KZbin or sell stuff online and that's what young people can do and they can get rich with out being a slave for a 8 dollars and $0.25

The Highest Holy Sabbath is Passover. Jesus Christ became our Passover. _Every_ day with Jesus Christ is a Sabbath for Christians ~ our rest is in God through Jesus Christ, also known as God's Word. 1 Corinthians 5:7 KJV 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth.

Y don't you tell the truth I work for a gas station and we made at least 20,000 in profit per day and I was paid $5.75 per hour and the bosses were making 10+ an hour now if you look at CEO from the 70s they only made 300 times more than the average employee now the make more than 5,000 times plus they get bonuses so we. Have to live and slavery days are over and if you are a Christian you know it states in the bible people are worthy of their wages and also employers are not suppose to get rich On the expense of ripping off they're employees tell me if you can live on $8.25 an hour I know you can't let some business close it okay we don't need them anyway slavery days are over if you want you can work for $8.25 an hour donate it back to the business and you will be fine or give it to a charity of your choice and only keep 8.25 per hour

"don't want people to depend on the government?" Dennis you don't mean the words you say, you depend on the government to defend your private property, enforce law and conduct jurisprudence, keep the roads paved nicely for your SUV to drive on, and so much more. Also, it's a Mitzvah to help people in need , universal healthcare means helping everyone in need who is sick, and it's run by the government, so it leaves you as kind of a bad Jew if you want to just take care of yourself and let others take care of themselves. Many people can't because they're born to bad overwhelmingly bad circumstances. You need to refine your viewpoints.
