“I played with my grandchildren yesterday...” I always come away thinking more deeply about what is important in life, after listening to what Yo-Yo Ma says and what he plays in any genre. Here, the interviewer doesn’t really listen to him and what’s he’s trying to explain. He says, “It’s not about the applause.” It’s not about the past, the awards or what you’ve accomplished; there are things much more important. And so, she doesn’t understand why “Solidad” is Yo-Yo Ma’s favourite piece of music, that sadness and loneliness are rich, valid human emotions which are as important as happiness. Mr. Ma’s understanding of being human is what makes him and his ‘work’ so amazing. I feel so lucky to be able to hear him and his music. He is very humble, yet inspiring, and he has found his voice...

Totally agreed that the interviewer didn’t get what Mr. Ma were saying. And she couldn’t follow up on what he said and just kept switching to another unrelated questions.

Aside from that , Yo- Yo was actually born in The Year of The Goat so it's doubly funny. It sounds flippant but I have to say I love this man more than any other on this planet . He will always be my hero because he is sincerely a lovely human being with the greatest integrity . He hasn't even realised that he himself is the ultimate scientist composer / musician . God bless you , dear Mr Ma . You have my heart . ❤❤❤❤❤
