Freestyling has come a long way. The sitting technique is unorthodox but it'll be hard to top it

hi Marqqq.. i’m sure you’ve been asked a million times, but can you give advice on where you recommend i rest my eyes / where to look on screen for best MA & scroll speed? i know chris plays high bpm and looks at targets, some great japanese players play 540-570bpm… not sure if i should relearn to stare at targets or just below targets and use peripheral vision or what… i’m struggling!

Thanks for asking! I don't always have the best answer, but just thinking about it is useful. I have been asked this a lot. Honestly, I don't think it's something you should necessarily worry about. Every time I get asked this, I always think that it's odd, because that's not what I think about during game-play. I'd say step back and enjoy the game, realize that it takes time and practice to understand patterns and timing, especially when you haven't really practiced a song. When I play, I do try to stare at the target arrows in general. I'm trying to take it all in, both the target arrows and the up- coming patterns, but also the sound of my steps and the music and the experience as a whole. Focusing on the target arrows makes you time better; focusing towards the bottom of the screen helps you read faster speed mods and understand upcoming patterns. Where you're looking is mostly subconscious, so don't focus on it too much. Experiment with sudden plus, and you will realize that looking at both the bottom and top of the screen is very important lol. Hope that helps, take care and stay cool! (Edited to be more concise lol)

@@marqqqddr Thank you so much for the detailed response!! I completely understand your points. I will keep practicing, experimenting, and try my best to be patient. I definitely cannot tell early and late marvelous apart yet, especially not visually without using crazy high speed mods, but I’m sure itll come with time. Keep kicking ass!
