Kodi performs better for me on my shield. I’ve also had lip sync issues on the cube.

For me the Shield, it has two USB 3.0 ports the Cube is still running one USB 2.0 in 2024 and it's a newer model...the Shield has a faster Ethernet Port compared to the Cube...yes the Shield hasn't had a Firmware update in ages but does it need? as all the apps are regularly updated. Another thing with the Cube from my mates who had one, was lip sync issues...

l have a 2017 shieild and a 2021 Sony A 80 j television, they both have Kodi 22.1 and Diggz latest.. build but with different skins [so I know which one is streaming]. The A 80 j is probably 12 to 15 % better than the shield due to its more powerful XR processor

I have them both. On my 2nd gen cubes I can move apps easily to an external usb. with my third gen i put in the usb and format it but i can't figure out how to move to usb. Adding a hard drive to a shield is very easy. If you could make a video how to get the 3rd gen to transfer apps to the usb that would be fantastic. Thanks as always. Lip sinc on the 3rd gen cube works for me with setting on raw.

If you know how use the shield it out performs any Android device other than Sony with axr processor. PS. My shield also has Samsung 500GB ss usb storage device with more 300 apps stored on it,. Plus it has a USB stick to download Plex.

The shields Plex server is a benefit. I have a 1 tb SSD adaptive storage on my pro and 2 tb adaptive storage on my 2017 shield.
