Thank you so much for the demo I must have watched this 11 months ago when I was deciding on purchasing my Joe 2. I just noticed that your kickash basket. I have been looking all over for the right kickash basket. Thank god, I came across your video again. I almost bought the wrong one. Thanks again for the demo.

Yeah, I have a Big Joe from 2014 that still works great. .has the divide and conquer system, but not the airlift hinge, the new top vent, but I did get the new AMP fire box as a warranty replacement.. I have been very happy with Kamado Joe since i got it! Glad you got the hat Rus! Happy New year!

How did you get it out of the truck? That is what I am wondering. Also, I wanted to see how the Joe was lifted to remove the upside down base and then see the Joe lifted and secured onto the base, but that all happened off-camera. The weight during transport & assembly is my big concern.
@CroakerOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
@@chancemiller9340 Loading into the truck was the hardest part. At home I have 2x10 loading ramps that I shimmy slid it down onto the drive way. The Egg is surprisingly easy for two guys to lift off of the inverted classic 2 base. You remove a lot of weight from inside the egg first so it is just the exterior ceramic and the hinge. Remember to not lift using the handles, it says this only in small print in the book. Lift from the hinge and bottom air intake.

You missed an explanation of a critical piece which is how to lift the Kamado Joe II out of the box. I saw another video in which it was done by lifting by the ash clean out and the hinge but it wasn't the same model so wanted to confirm the same method is used for this model as I just received mine.

I wrapped a ratchet strap around the body, below the lid edge. Prior to tightening, I placed two ratchet straps (one on each side), making a loop with each strap long enough to place over our neck and shoulders. Essentially, using the two ratchet straps on each side as lifting straps. Then me and another person lifted the body with the straps over our shoulders, using our legs, while my daughter steadied the body from tipping. It worked, but was very heavy.

@@FireWaterCooking I have a Chinese knockoff kamado that I'm having a lot of success with.. I recently got a Joe Jr and I'm really digging the quality and design even tho it's the first gen. What would you suggest my next step to be? Big Joe ii or wait for the iii Classic or Big Joe to hit stock? My family size jumped to 5 last year and I'll be having lots of mouths to feed soon. The triple tier of the iii might mean the classic will do the trick but so would a Joe ii...

Do you mind if I ask to tell me the difference if you know between the Vision Grill Vs Kamado Joe Classic II ? Kamdoe Joe bit more pricy with a couple of hundreds $$
@FireWaterCooking5 жыл бұрын
The Vision Grill is OK, but does not have the many upgrades that the Kamado Joe offers.. the Airlift hinge, which you will only find on Kamado Joe, is worth over $200 difference itself. Throw in the divide and conquer rack system for multi-level, multi-zone cooking, the ash removal tray, the advanced Kontrol tower top vent, and the exclusive AMP Fire box. the AMP Fire box is designed to never break. the Vision (and most other Kamado's including Big Green Egg) have a single piece firebox that are constantly breaking. Most will replace them under warranty, but they are a pain to keep filing claims. Kamado Joe is always innovating and making their products better. they also designed and sell one of the ONLY rotisserie systems made to use with Kamado grills, the Joetisserie. It is so good that many Big Green Egg and Vision owners buy and use it. To me, Kamado Joe makes a far superior product and accessories and is always innovating and has excellent customer service. It is well worth the extra cost to ME. but I know others will only look at price..
