there aren't too many big greek based bands. Not any I have heard of but still givin that... Firewind is one of the greatest bands of this century easily. but they still are pretty high to last century's bands. They're are amazing.

Firewind is AMAZING live. I've seen Dragonforce at the Rockstar festival in Atlanta Georgia, and Firewind beats them by far. Their live performance is GODLY....i loved it is what im saying

sooo true. this band records what they play live for the most part. Dragonforce has a hard time live. They are great writters and studio players but they write above their live abilities sometimes in turn they struggle often. I have seen some pretty clean performances of them before though.

@Bread23000 wrong, slipknot does know a good bit about metal, their fans do not, but they are good guys, I don't listen to them but I now have an established respect for them. Also what's wrong with not focusing on one very technical field in music?>.> It's the closest thing we have in modern time besides soundtracks to classical music these days. That's why you constantly see metal covers of Vivaldi and what not on different instruments, They're trained in that style... nothing wrong with it.

the problem with dragonforce, it's that they aren't original. The structure is always the same : intro-solo-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-solo-solo-solo-solo-solo-bridge-chorus(-outro). If they were original, they would be so fuckin' great !

you just have to keep looking, there's plenty of good power metal bands out there, sonata arctica, blind guardian somewhat, helloween if you like the vocals (thats an acquired taste)

thats because Disturbed makes radio-friendly music that appeals to a younger generation... Most of disturbed fans are angst-ridden high school kids. Disturbed is a typical mainstream band... nothing more.
