Ive seen Machado here a ton of times, said a few words in passing or out in the line up and hes always cool. He’s always respectful of the line up and even lets kooks and kids have there turns, not a wave hog or agro when someone kooks it and takes off on him or anything, has great attitude at all times. True Legend and personal hero.

Nah the world wouldn't be better if everyone just got waves and smiled. Look at the places where 'everyone' gets waves. Are they smiling? No! Because people are selfish and greedy and they have corrupt hearts. Surfing doesn't change us but it can, to the person who's listening, communicate some truth.. Few of us want to listen. We'd rather focus on ourselves and our pleasure at the expense of others. "That which is flesh is flesh whether surfing or not and that which is spirit is spirit." We think we're good when we're just happy.

Thanks Rob Machado I love my new seaside! I'm 49 years old and 5,9 168 pounds. I chose the 5'7 model and its absolutely amazing. Generates tons of speed, flow and is really easy to turn and go rail to rail. It took me 2 sessions to dial it in, but after that it's been nothing but pure happiness. I surf in NJ where there is a lot of beach breaks. Paddles great and I would recommend this board. Thanks again Rob!

I got the 5'7 too. I'm 25 y/o and I also am 5'9 168, couldn't be happier with a board, and I'm just above a beginner, that board is SO easy to have fun with! And so fast. Unfortunately a guy decided to bail his longboard and it smashed the poor thing's rail while I was on a wave, but I drilled and injected some epoxy and now it's all good except the three ugly holes lol
@bloblablah7409 Жыл бұрын
Wtf... is everyone 5'9 168lbs?! I'm also a fellow 5'9er 168 pounder and I'm looking at getting a 5'5. I have experience with a couple Helium boards already and they're easy to accidentally oversize. Helium construction boards like to sit higher in the water and tend to feel more floaty, so make sure you really dial in the right size for you when it comes to these guys or else they might start feeling very boaty if you go just a little too big. You gotta find that happy medium between getting a board big enough that you can catch waves and be happy - but not too big that you have to baby all your turns.

Looks like a fun board. Your fins are interesting, I noticed the the cutaway at the base of the rear curve. I rode a windsurfer (in the surf) a few decades ago and the fins we used on them had a cutaway as well. We also tried small leader fins in front of the main fin. This seemed to reduce cavitation of water around the fin at speed. Your board looked smooth through turns ... I wonder if your fins are helping or just natural talent ...

Not here to complain Shawn just asking Rob for some shapes for us bigga guys brah. Yes a 5”4” to 5’8” would be a great length but need a 5”4” with 40L instead of 30L. From 5’11” up the Seaside finally reaches 40L & greater according to Firewire’s Website. I had a Rob Biscut that Merrick shaped that was 5’2” over 3 inches thick & was available off the rack at the local shops. Seems in today’s surfboard market there is no need to shape shorter thicker surfboards for us big guys. A 5’11” 40L Seaside that Rob shaped would be great, but a 5’8” with 40L would be epic Bruddah. Aloha 🤙🏾

So I always scheduled my surfing around that bored being available. The owner told me that he would sell me the board when I had saved up enough$. Dude got in a bad car accident about a month prior and has to close up shop. Needless to say I went to a traditional 3 fin design and there was a huge difference in the way it handled. 4 fins are great for east coast surf, unless there is a hurricane swell.
