I was very concerned that you might give up on making videos. Glad to see this video show up when I awoke at 3a.m.to stoke up my fire! I cut wood almost every day as that is my only heat source and found it funny that YOU are cutting wood today as well. I have learned many things from your videos especially about snares. I have never seen any video of yours that I did not enjoy. Would be glad to listen to just your stories. I think many people would like to know about the day to day life of folks like you and your wife who live on the Rez. I think you are doing a wonderful thing Robert. Love, respect, and peace to you my brother from the mountains of Ky.

Hey Robert I can tell you have worked in the bush for a long time. One thing I am impressed with is the use of layering for your clothing. Alot of people are not aware of how important that is in winter. This might be a good topic for one of your videos to show people and talk about it. PEACE

That was cool to see you work with the chainsaw, you handle it real well. Nice to have you back. Its the little things that we learn, what to collect to start a fire, holding a Bic to warm it up so it will light in cold weather, making a fire log with a chainsaw and how to get the saw to work when it's froze up. Every video I learn something Robert, keep on doing what you are doing, it's not just us older folks who are watching, it's young folk too. Thanks for a good day on the trail getting firewood for Uncle G!

Robert...we had to start fires all the time to thaw out our chainsaws...we cut the trees where we had the fire so things didn’t freeze up ...also We brought a couple of beach chairs and always had a cooler holding our shore lunch...usually fresh bread, jam, and a big ham steak for roasting With wrapped potatoes in the coals...two sleds and two tractors equals a great day outside....they wanted too much $ for cut trees back then. My grandfather would cut trees and use his Percheron Horse team to drag out to farmhouse...such a great time to be a kid growing up!

Always wear your seat belt. In life I compare that to having our moral compass guide us. We always need to do what ones inner voice tells us. Some call it the voice of ones conscience or spiritual guidance. It's foundation comes from what we were taught or what we learned in childhood. It keeps us out trouble and on the right path in life. Many walk the path you walk Robert. This is clearly evident from your many followers. Also, there are many forces that try to lead us on a different path. It could be alcohol, envy, temptation, etc.. Yes Robert, indeed keep your seat belt on it is a wild ride sometimes. God Bless.

I will be cutting firewood today just picked up an Echo cs 590 timberwoolf, saw is only a year old "still in warrenty" but who ever had it didn't clean the oil holes in the bar and I think it has the wrong chain.no more ajustment so I will pick up a new bar and chain for it today. Its a beast though 60 cc motor says it will handle up to a 29 inch bar.
@allanclose96845 жыл бұрын
Lorne C The chain has stretched. You dont need a new bar or chain, the chain can be shortened if to long. Ask at saw shop what problem could be before buying something you may not need. Take the bar off saw and use a putty knife or your pocket knife and stick thin blade in bar groove and push away from you and all the small chips and junk will come out of grove so chain moves free and also clean holes by the oilier. When home i use air hose and blow gruve clean. A new chain will stretch and become loose , so make a few cuts then re tighten chain. Always use Premium or regular white gas in saw. Ethinol gas will melt gas lines, so always empty when no using.I If you have older saw , replace with the new gas lines that wont melt. Empty tank then pull choke too empty gas lines and carb. Never use more or less oil mix in your gas , Use only what directions say to use. One huge mistake people make is trying to keep sawing when the chain gets dull. Only very little pressure is needed for chain to cut , very little. Look at the teeth on chain, and if the''' TIP"" of tooth is shinny it needs to be re sharpened "" NOW "", or you could burn up the saw by over heating it. My brother in law burnt up 2 of my saws he barrowed from me because he kept pushing down with a dull chain. Yes he bought me a new one [ because he was honest ]. You can learn how to sharpen your saw on You Tube.
@plowboy0065 жыл бұрын
@@allanclose9684 hey thanks for the comment but I had cleaned the channel the bar had been grooved by the chain and chipped in a couple of spots after doing some part research it was because who ever had the saw before it was at the pawn shop had put the wrong chain for the bar on it it was supposed to have a d70 and they had been running a d72 so I put a new bar and chain combo on it today. And the chain was so uneven that they defiantly did not know how th sharpen a chain either. The saw itself runs great. Thanks for commenting though.
@plowboy0065 жыл бұрын
Oh and even with having to replace the bar and chain the saw still saved me $150.00 than what a new on would cost and it still has another 3 years and 4 months under factory warranty left on it!
@allanclose96845 жыл бұрын
Lorne C, Now i see why the trouble u had. I buy most saws and supplies from Bailey's in Calafronia they have great sales. Sometimes u can get a bar and chin for the price of one and great prices on files. I keep my file in a piece of cardboard that i folded 3 or 4 times , then wrap with some tape and slide file in to keep it clean and dry, it last much longer that way. i use air hose and clean it . I keep it on dash of pickup to keep dry too. I cut firewood for a living for may years. They have catalog on line and 800 number,call and ask questions or ask if have or will have a sale on a certain item. In 1983 i bought a case files [ 60 ] and still have a few left . Been buying from Bailey's since 1974. Good lock with saw. Whats your 20?
