Always rated IFK Göteborgs fanscene. What a shame it is to see you avoiding relegations and finishing mid-table the last few years. Also surely the biggest club in Sweden should have a bigger stadium than just 18k. Huge Respect from Copenhagen💪 Hope to see you back in Europe soon again

As long as the arena stands they won’t build a new one for us unfortunately. It’s big enough for gais&öis but we have outgrown it.

If I’m not wrong there are plans to expand it to 22k, but I don’t think any decision has been made about that yet. But we also have the big stadium (that was shown in the video) nearby and previously a lot of derbies and other big games have been played there.

@@EtAl774 they always throwing ideas out every year, but in the end the result is always the same. Ullevi (big one) is outdated, and just a poor arena in general, the size is the only thing it has going for it.

@@Guldberger we need a new arena that’s like Malmö FF’s. 25k would be ideal. Problem is that they won’t allow real estate space for a third arena “downtown”, since they need this one for ÖIS, GAIS and the women’s national team, the big arena for rock concerts and other events..

I happened to be in Göteborg on May 6 during the GAIS - IFK match. It was incredible atmosphere great fans and what a beautiful city! We loved Göteborg and want to go back next year. Great video, greetings from Chicago!

Top fans. The IFK song “snart skiner Poseidon” always tears me up, it’s just so beautiful, especially if you know the city. I live on Hisingen, so I Watch Häcken as that’s the club here. As an English person I feel dodgy leeching onto another city’s teams, even if I’ve married a Swede in this city, and both my kids were born in the hospital here (östra sjukhuset). If I felt I could choose however, I’d watch IFK. There’s something special about them. GAIS as well, also Öis have amazing support regarding (I’ve seen them all). Häcken suits me, as I feel it’s more a mish-mash of people living on Hisingen island, and Hisingen itself is very multicultural.

Class video as always. I went to the derby between Landskrona and Helsingborg last week, was a great experience. Just a short train ride from my home in Copenhagen! I need to get to Göteborg soon for a few games, so many top teams in that area.

If the tickets isn´t sold out yet you should go to IFK´s next home game against AIK. A really big rivalry game with a great tense atmosphere 🔥

Great video, great presentation of the amazing atmosphere around this game - sat just a few seats away from you and saw you filming during the forced break so was waiting to catch this. It’s cool you take some time to explore the city too. As for Blåvitt, we might be fighting in the bottom half for now but the support has been stronger than ever the last couple of seasons and I think that’s the one thing that gives us hope that we’ll get back in our rightful place soon enough. 💙🤍

I was speaking to a huge Blåvitt fan before the game and we were saying how crazy it is that in our lifetime IFK have gone from being a competitive Champions League team to fighting relegation. Money has changed football so much it’s so imbalanced now, but I’d love to see some of the teams in Scandinavia become powerful again because the support is just amazing.

Fun fuct: The stadium called Ullevi, finished in 1958, was called Nya Ullevi (New Ullevi) unntill 2009 when the new stadium Gamla Ullevi (Old Ullevi) was finished. At the place where Gamla Ullevi is located there was another stadium that was called Gamla Ullevi before 2009. This was demolished to build the stadium standing there today. So accuatly the correct name should be Nya Gamla Ullevi (New Old Ullevi).

@@K_Honkonen Nah man everyone I know, and I'm from Gothenburg my self, calls it Nya Ullevi, although the official name might be Ullevi. That's because it was built after the original Ullevi, which then became Gamla (old). Yes very confusing: now they're planning to rebuild the new old Ullevi so I guess it will be New New Old Ullevi. 🤣

Blåvit åker ut åker ut blåvit åker ut😂 Gais is a much better fotboll team. Ifk has lost it all This last 4 years. Its Been 13 years sins ifk won over Gais so it was about time. Gais didn’t play there best match either. Almost felt like they gave the match to ifk just because they are so close to moving down to superettan😅
