4th Of July Fireworks Show returned to the Huntington Beach Pier CA.7-4-2021 Sunday starting at 9pm PST.
Very amazing that is was a mostly clear night with a little haze the day after weeks of straight low cloud cover.
The wind was blowing hard peaking solid 20mph+ around 7pm. By the start of the show still 15-17mph decreasing slowly from the west.
The good thing about that it kept the low cloud cover from forming that you could see a few miles offshore.
The temperature was nice before the sunset about 70 degrees after a day time high of about 76 on the sand, then dropping upper 60’s with a cold wind chill after the sun went down.
It was a great show and started very close to right on time.
The crowd was crazy but everyone stayed under control with no incidents that I noticed?
Parking was packed up a few miles inland.
Getting out of there was the hardest part with street fireworks and craziness all around!
I’m not sure of the number of people which was a lot for sure!
But I think the previous few years before the pandemic may have been a little more?
As you can see in the video the free fireworks show was top notch and well worth the awesome experience of being there!
Some paid to be on the pier which I think was a $50 dollar fee?
The surf was up fairly well also, but totally blown with a few 8 maybe 9 foot wave faces mostly from the SSW.
Water temp mostly mid 60’s.
