Yep, back when people didn't sit at home on the internet all day, we had to find 'fun' things to do... and add in the fact that we didn't have youtube or social media to upload videos for 'posterity', so there were only a couple home movies at most, and often low quality, and often just on someone vhs collection that is sitting in their storage locker, etc.. So all that 'insanity' that people didn't want to advertsise cause it was technically illegal at the time to build such machines without insane safety regulation violations, so its all just lost now which is sad to think how much amazing youtube content would have been created in the 80's and 90's, and even the 70's as well I'm sure, though that was before my time... but growing up as a kid/teen in the 80's can definitely attest to some insane things that people did that never got recorded anywhere...

In this demonstration, a consumable wire or fuse element is used to initiate the discharge. When the energy from the capacitors is released, that wire rapidly vaporizes, creating a short-lived plasma channel. This channel forms mostly in the air gap between the device (the source) and the target, rather than depositing most of its energy directly onto the target. The target’s role is mainly to complete the circuit rather than to absorb the discharge in a concentrated way.
@LightningOnDemand
@LightningOnDemand 23 күн бұрын
