Aussie living in Germany here. Nice video mate, I map OEM engines for a living over here. Keep the engine safe and run a big engine oil cooler. Preferably a water to oil cooler with a 2.5kw V8 Cherokee thermo fan. Any more than 110c oil temps you are running the risk of grabbing a bearing, especially with high oil aeration with the older LS engines. The older LS engines don't have a scavenge pump to pump the oil into a catch tank so make sure you run a large cooler. I think the LSA and the LS3 run a dual stage pump so look into if they fit the older gen LSs. Then feed the oil into a decent catch tank that can reduce aeration. Usually on the test cells we run a 15L catch tank and the engine I'm mapping now, a 850ps TTV8, has no issues running full power for 300hrs. Have fun!

The old rag in the intake trick. Happened to many a team, particularly with intercooler piping haha. You get that on the big jobs boys. Worth the effort to double check. Great work on the video brother, production levels coming up trumps 💪🏻

Glad to see your using bluetack on the pistons to check valve clearance old school stuff and don't you hone the barrels out too 2 thou and if you can put a thicker blue tack and let the valve imprint in the blue tack then dti the depth of the groove off the valve and the you know the measurements

One more question when building and when you put the cam in do you get a bottle off sticky oil with the cam kit if so this oil is hardening oil to harden the camshaft so on first start rev too 3,500 rpm for 20 mins and do t let the engine boil or over heat and don't switch it off and this will run the camshaft in and harden it too just to let you know if you didn't that's how I used to do it

This is why engine builders are putting all parts and block in climate control rooms so they can put rings on easier and less sanding and work you have done. The first engine builder I heard of doing this was Larry Perkins and that’s why his engines were so tough right up to the 304 once they went to LS he stopped
