Also at Greensleeves,while I'm sure you have fixed it by now, you're supposed to use overlapping pedal. Basically you press the note first, THEN you "reset" the pedal (not native, couldnt find a good word for it). That way you don't hear a little gap of sound. It takes some getting used to, but sounds way better. This might not be relevant for you anymore, but for any1 reading this who is at that song as that is the first song that introduces it :P

You serve a big thumb-up coz you are real. Not a fake beginner of piano as I saw too many fake on youtube. I must say you did very well as a beginner. My first time to play piano when I was 4 years old, repeating the same notes over and over again everyday to make fingers moving correct and smoothly, we all were the beginners so we knew how frustrated at beginning, gee!! I still remembered Beyer now.

My first 100 hours were learning basic stuff , notes for example.. But now , 1 year into playing piano , i'm playing Sonata in G Major, Op. 49, No. 2 , Sonate No. 17, "Tempest" , etc.. Not trying to show off , i'm just saying that hard work beats all. I know all these songs are not for my level , yet i play them , don't let nothing and no one stop you from achieving your dream. No one but my teacher supports me on this journey , yet i still keep going , the fact that i want to prove everyone who has said to me "You can't play " , "You will never reach your dream" etc. i want to prove em wrong. My dream is to compete on the biggest piano competition and win it. Hard work and dedication will send me there , will make my dream come true. Hard work and dedication WILL make YOUR dream come true , no matter if you play piano , violin , any other instrument , or none too! Whatever you like doing , whatever your dream is , work hard for it. I sure will , we all should! Much love.❤

True. This video is believable. The only difference between me and the beginning of the clip is ---- I don't get frustrated with the piano if I don't initially manage to get things 'right'. I just keep at it. Overall - for this guy here - excellent to see he kept at it, and he became significantly better and better - as expected. That's what happens when we keep at it. The experience just keeps building up. I like genuine non-showoff videos like this one. Good! Nice work and effort. And thumbs up.

It depends on what you did before starting with the piano. If your hands are used to fast and precise movement (Professional typists as an example), it's much easier to learn the piano. I just started a week ago and I am also already far above what I should be able to do. I am a programmer btw with 500 APM and 98% accuracy. It also depends on how you learn. I personally went to the hard things directly and skipped all that "step by step" shit. Just doing things over and over, copying techniques until you can do it.

In my own experience it is better persistence and steady work than long hours per sit (of course not bad at all if you can still stay focused and enjoying the progress). It is kind of magic. One day you are stuck with something and another one you realize that you can do it, or suddenly understand some connection between this and that. I guess it is something to do with repetition, and the way the brain works.

I HIGHLY recommend you sign up as soon as you can! Believe me. I wish I had been able to start sooner. if your school offers courses for music, take them! It doesn't matter if you don't know anything about music! The courses are there for you to take and learn! Just be open minded when you enter and be willing to practice. first thanks to be honest with the video. i am also a new adult player. i enjoy it so much that i decided to take 2 classes per week and practice more than 10 hours a week. I agree that the more you practice , faster is your progression, but to be honest, brain need to process information. when i came for 5h/week with 1 class to 10h/week with 2 classes. my progression is for sure faster but not 2X faster. what i mean is even if you decide to partice 100h in 2 weeks, you still need time for your fingers to gain strengh and agility. The only way to have it , is to practice ... for month ;(. if you go for body building, you will get nothing in 2 weeks even if you train hard !
@rian5345 жыл бұрын
@@pascaltang50 Very true and the people who cramp 100 hours into like 2 or 3 weeks have less polished skill and I see that their technique is a bit off, what they are doing is basically making progress by learning songs and that's about it.

@@rian534 Learning piano is an exhausting brain exercise. A musical athlete (professional or talented music student) may absorb long hours of practice and study. It's cool but I think you didn't really start from zero experience. it seems that you already know a lot of things about music theory, that you were able to read music sheet, or more even sightread. and for me, that's quite a long jump ahead of learning the piano. Hence, there's a huge difference between you and a person who tries to learn the piano only by "synthesias" (which is something that's becoming a trend nowadays)- the latter I can say started from real absolute zero experience.
