Sent 3 birds to Hoosier all Siblings, 2 finished the race, unfortunately 1 got lost from that 2nd smash race. Though I didn’t win 💰, i was able to compete with big guys and mob flyers. The only thing I don’t like is the the accuracy of the distance. There were no map or anything like that to prove the actual release point. I congratulate all the winners, especially 99 problems, with his bird Only Fans. Hope he can get his bird back.

2 of 3 back from the final is impressive!! If you look at the inventory Many of the big dogs only got a few out of many birds back. You should be proud, my friend!

i would just assume that if he hadn't been injured Major Tom would have won. personally i would breed him as if he was a winner, but of course you know how new i am! i was happy to hear you were going to send his kids back. i have a lot of respect for birds that coe back after adversity- shows the heart

i have the children of a bird that survived a hawk attack and made it back to her loft... and her (later) mate, who was on someone's race team until he hurt his wing. in any race, i thik, the "heart" and determination of a bird to keep going- like cher ami- is critical. please let me know if some of Major Tom's kids are available for sale- if i have money i will be interested. @@RFRP

Thanks!! Oooo that is a tough question. I have a lot of new pigeons that have not been tested yet so it is difficult to say. Of my older breeders The Cuevas Hen, 278 and Marie Curie have all produced winners and breeders of winners.

I’m not sure the cause of the late molt. Maybe there were some health issues at Hoosier which might impact the timing??

Birds look great. Hated to see Major Tom miss out on the 300. When they get injured after a win it leaves you wondering what would have happened if they’d made those other races. In club races this year I had one that was 1st place on the first 2 races and came back from a training toss with a broken leg. He’s healed up walking on it, but had to miss a race and isn’t coming home well from training tosses. Love the Major Tom moniker.

Possibly the losses at the Hoosier were related to the bad molt. Bad molt can be that the birds were not in the best of health. Curious about their health at the Hoosier. Good luck with the birds

Major Tom is a Macaloney (Scotland) bloodline bird. This bloodline has been great for me so far.

Came back in fine shape.. Don't even get me started on the Hoosier fiasco! The worst handling/training of OLR birds I've ever seen, which accounts for almost 3,000 birds being lost from start to finish. The big final race was a ridiculous release decision, resulting in the worst returns ever.. Needless to say, I won't be going back there next year when there's no respect for the birds or the breeders being honored.. That last race has a lot of suspicion going on as well, which I uncovered myself after watching a video.. This shouldn't happen on one of the most popular OLR's in the country.. JMHO

I will stand by my statement that I’m disappointed in the sweeping losses. I don’t have a problem with the decision to go ahead and release the birds late in the final. What a headache that must have been for Jim.

@@RFRP lets see how it goes we have gotten calls from all the prestigious. lofts around the country, asking questions you know how that goes so I’m sure that some of the big pockets are going to go at it, but will be here to show a fight haha …. it’s tough being in their position that’s all I can imagine making a tough decision that basically determines everyone’s fae at the end of the day I just think that it’s even for everyone. The same thing is happening to everyone no one is getting an advantage was it tough one definitely, they really need to figure out how to oil their machine because it’s not working how they got things going I asked myself every day. Are these birds really getting trained to the fullest and I really don’t think so so you better send the best of the best that wants to go back home!
