In Kansas you could get a tag specifically for road kills. A friend of mine has gotten tags this way just after she hit a deer. I'm not sure if you could get one since you're from out of state. I hit a doe earlier this year in March on the highway. Sucks!!

@@laremyzaring8568 on the way to the cabin around midnight a deer came down the hill and t-boned my T-Bird. We were face-to-face for a second and luckily all I got was a big nose print on the driver's window and some fur under the door handle. He just said, oops sorry, and ran away so I guess technically that's a hit-and-run. After that I put deer whistles on my vehicles. I didn't really think it would work but everybody said it does and I never had any more problems. I guess it's kind of like with dogs and dog whistles, the noise bothers them so they get away.

Kansas is loaded with good deer. I have boatloads of them that come across my property. And don’t worry about the coyotes. They’re pretty much harmless but they sure can put on a racket.
