So good to see this again. Aussie here, lived in USA from 2013-17 and saw these patrolling around and they topped my list. The popo here don't get 6L V8 very often because our roads vigorously suck ass, instead, the caprice here was luxury lined, and designated to the ministers. I finally picked one up this week. Still grinning. The mods here except the intake and the cam were already done by the ministers - probably because they made the taxpayer foot the bill (their main skill). The 'Advanced Fuel Management' seems sketchy though (4 cylinder mode... environmental activists penetrating politics) I'm tuning that bollocks out next dyno. Great to see these home made beasts being looked after. Blessings from Morpeth, Australia! PS. Your PPV has better looking grills and bars than what the ministers chose. (subjective)

will do man! many more videos to come stay tuned, and making sure that you have a solid platform to build up on is probably the best thing you can do, make sure the suspension, brakes, etc is all good

I'm keeping the steel wheels on mine. The weight makes no difference to me. Mine is a street car. My Mods? 2012 9C1 DOD delete AFM detuned LS7 heads and lifters Stage 3 cam Rotofab CAI New front end, bumper, bumper cover, radiator, less restrictive exhaust That's it for now. I considered headers but have $7K into it for mods and maintenance and still owe $8K on the car so I don't plan on anything else until it's paid off completely. I bought it Memorial Day 2022 for a 60th birthday gift to myself. It had 95,600 miles, and now has 100,000 miles. The interior is perfect, all carpet floors, regular seats, no backseat police mods at all. Even after a year it's the most fun car I've ever driven, love the power, handling, and braking.

It's not the weight, it's the rotating mass.

I have a 2011 I did the blackhorse racing headers and treated em real nice with a hammer, still have the oil cooler. And sticking to the cheap theme i did the silencer delete for the air intake. Never realized how heavy the steelies were, definitely makes me want new wheels

lol right on! How are you liking the black horse racing headers so far?

Don't worry about changing your cam if you boost, a boost cam doesn't actually do anything different for boost, typically they have less chop though. Whatever power curve a car makes NA will just be increased with boost, so a high output NA cam would make more power than a cam claimed a boost cam. However, this is also with just horsepower and torque in mind, not driveability (not saying a boost cam would or would not affect driveability I do not know personally).

About to grab me one.... what’s your take on the DOD and what to look out for when looking for one of these cars?
@LukeWaters4 жыл бұрын
The dod sucks, mine didn't fail in my caprice or g8, but its known to eat camshafts. Some things to look out for is make sure all the electrical.stuff such as the horn and turn signals work, give the car a good once over for holes drilled for cop lights, and bubbling rust under the paint where the cop lights used to sit

Hi, is a 120000 miles 2013 caprice reliable? Suppose that it was well maintained. I am trying to get a caprice ppv but there is not a lot near me, that 120000 miles one is one of them...

Mine has 117k strong! Just make sure you don't hear any valve train noise and double check to make sure everything works as it should and you should be good to go

What does your caprice ppv sound like with your manzo headers an exhaust? im having a hard time figuring out what to install on my 14 caprice ppv for headers and exhaust its all bone stock still besides taking your advice and i just purchased some new rims and tires. But id love to hear your setup
@LukeWaters3 жыл бұрын
the headers tbh have a hard time staying sealed lol, they do leak but can be fixed with V bands. But other than that, it sounds great! Mines been cammed so it wont sound the same as one with just headers on it. for the price theyre worth it! But I havent found many retailers selling them anymore

So ive heard about the lifter problem caused because of the cylinder deactivation. What would i need to replace to solve that problem. Just the lifters? or a cam as well?
@LukeWaters4 жыл бұрын
Lifters, cam, valley cover at minimum. I made a DOD delete video a few weeks back on my channel, it cost me around 500 bucks to remove the DOD from my g8
@AndrewMOJObook Жыл бұрын
General consensus is while you have the engine apart it's best to do the cam.
