No coach or anyone to help her correct technique. She just plugged away at it until she figured it out for herself. Who in the world would criticize this kind of spunk and ingenuity.......

I saw a couple comments saying she shouldn't have cried over that. Well being self tought and getting a Ariel is such a good achievement. And I cried over getting my back walkover. Yea it's not a big achievement but if you have been working on it and getting angry you couldn't so it and things like that then getting the skill that you were working for makes you confident in yourself and makes you just happy. That's why she cried and why I cried and why anyone else cried for getting a skill.

@paypaypay2724 жыл бұрын
I cry when I get a new skill because I'm self taught and us self taught people working 2x harder than gymnasts that have coaches to correct and spot them. I've worked on an aerial for a long time and I'm finally getting close and us self taught people should get a medal for our struggle. We fall and get hurt a lot more than gymnasts with coaches.

If you are too scared to do a skill that you know you can do close your eyes and count to five or whatever number helps you and as soon as you open them run and do the skill immediately after you open your eyes. That trick works so well for me

Tip: Don't run too fast or you will lose your momentum. 2 Tip: Keep stretching our middle splits just till your but is at the height of a basket ball and your in your straddle. 3 Tip After your warm ups start with basic tumbling and after your comfortable a skill then keep moving on the the difficult and challenging skills. Tip With your side ariel practice slow normal cartwheels and try to point your toes. Once you have practiced that you need to move on to practicing your dive and pop up cartwheels while keeping our toes pointed. Lastly keep your arms tucked don't have them hanging down otherwise all your arm wait will pull you down also also cause your arms get in the way. 4 Tip With your ariel try to look at your landing ground. Good job Lyd for me as a gymnast i would like to say i'm proud that even though you don't have anything fancy to help your ariels your sill managing to teach yourself and that's an even greater strength good work. keep it up.

@awesomedrawings35716 жыл бұрын
Cheyenne Young maybe the ground is to hard and not bouncy enough?? Don't worry though. This mental block happens to everyone and you will get over it. I have a mental block of handstands so what I'm doing is doing something I love( cartwheels) and stop them at the top on my couch. Now I can do them on beam for dismounts. Hope this helps 😊
@gaminggalll97875 жыл бұрын
I got my bhs on the ground by having support and then I asked for shadowing then they just say I did it my help for a mental block is for trying it on a really soft mat or mattress and then eventually try on the ground . You will eventually get it

Try having someone spot you on an air mat or trampoline, but dont swing, just go back. After you perfect it on there, have someone spot you on a mat. Again one you perfect it on there, have someone spot you on the ground, until you can do it by yourself

Agent_BEAN.....Ok whip your legs really fast and push off your front leg. I suggest you say your corrections while you run before your airel. Make sure you don't have a mental block CUZ if your close and you keep putting your hands down try holding something like a scrunchie so you don't put your hands down. And always video yourself so you can see what you need to work on. Most people like to put their hands down even though they don't need to so just know your not the only one. (I'm that gal who helped 3 people get their AIREL by telling them this stuff)GOOD LUCK!!!! Have fun!!

Agent_BEAN jump super high and focus right at first on spreading your legs as far apart as possible so it will whip your legs around faster and it will be a little sooner that your legs touch the ground

You're so amazing! Super inspiring and never ever gave up even when you fall you have to get right back up. I am a gymnast and I think every gymnast should see how hard you work. GREAT JOB! I always watch this video and I always cry on it, it is so heart warming and you are awesome.

aha you should try parkour and freerunning tricks for a video "gymnast tries parkour" that would be really funny!

Fenne Saaf i tell my self that by practicing a certain way itll help, but it doesnt bc im not even practicing right
@andinelson29458 жыл бұрын
Fenne Saaf try forcing one of your arms up, and sort of letting one of them down, but at the same time keeping it up. It sounds confusing but that's how I got mine. 😂
@kaitlinf44198 жыл бұрын
just keep your arms up that's how I got myn and if u have a tramp practise them with 1 bounce

Fenne Saaf check out the Cheernastics2 channel. They have a mountain of tutorials for skills, they're really supportive of self-taught gymnasts and they have a great side aerial tutorial with good tips. Not that I'm trying to direct traffic away from Lydia, I thought they were really helpful is all. I'm too decrepit and broken to flip anymore. I wish I'd had youtube when I was younger to do things like this before my body broke on me.

Kaitlin Feather my acro couch said that its not good to do it an tramp because it makes you do something that you shouldn't be, but if it worked for you 👍

When I first got my aerial for the first time, I couldn't do it again for a couple weeks. I think it took 5 - 7 months (after I got it the first time) before I could do it consistently.

@bekahlacanienta26976 жыл бұрын
you are such an amazing gymnast and whoever tells you that youre not, dont let them discourage. you learned how to do several different advanced skills without a coach or a gym. i hope yiu never give up and always try your hardest! i know that you will become an even better self taught gymnast as you practice more and more.❤️💜
