“Film No.33: Signal Corps First Aid” is a black-and-white official training film produced by the United States Army in 1938. Originally classified and intended for use by the US Department of War, this film was produced by the Signal Corps and made in collaboration with the Surgeon General. The film seeks to provide comprehensive knowledge on how to administer proper first aid to wounded soldiers during combat.

Man, the advice to loosen a tourniquet after 20 mins and retighten after a bit more bleeding...glad we're past that now.

pretty sure that is sill a thing the timing might be different but 9 years ago i was told to loosen a tourniquet after some time and re-tighten its just that most people are in the hands of a qualified medic by then

in some cases a stent or soocher can be aoplyed in order to save a limb. A trained medic will determaine this based on priority and 9 line medivac.

I received pretty much identical training in the 1970s. There has been a true revolution in first aid trauma care in the last few decades.

Never loosen a tourniquet after it's applied! Everyone should know this is just for historical purposes and the medical advice is significantly outdated.

MY DAD WAS A MEDIC WITH THE 801ST MEDIC UNIT THEN HE GOT SENT OVER TO THE 10TH MEDICAL AID STATION I ON THE OTHER HAND I WENT TO FIRST AID SCHOOL EVERY CHANCE I GOT

14:55 did he just carry the patient to the stretcher instead of moving the stretcher to the patient?

this is so out dated, i.e. head trauma, leave the helmet on and emobilize or stabilize head and neck . You can apply bandages after evauating. Giving water to a casualty on his back! He may go into shock, lay him on hus side! He could have additional abdominal or head and neck injuries. etc.
