In the 80's as a child, I met Emmylou and had a picture taken with her. In 2004 I met her again and gave her an autographed (by me) copy of that photo. I suggested that she could round file it (throw it away) and she replied, "I have an entire wall in my my house that is filled with memorabilia fans have given me. I know exactly where I am going to put this on my wall." She loves her fans as much as we love her and appreciates the influence she has had on so many of us. What a great tribute this was to her.

Hard to believe these lyrics came from two young ladies of high school age and vocals with the guitar are phenomenal.✨💖

What a great performance! I'd never seen this version, although I know the song. I first heard these guys on David Letterman (he was a fan) and I started following them. They are the real deal! Thanks to Don and T. Smith for this - wonderful!

Thanks for “revisiting” this. Yeah any song about Gram was sure to touch her. Something else struck me the first time I saw their video. One of Emmylou’s greatest gifts is her ability to recognize and nurture talent. Think of all the fantastic musicians who’ve shared the stage with her! Quite obvious how much she appreciates these girls.

Such a good song; I saw them make their network television debut on Letterman before they even had a record deal. I became an immediate fan. Great reaction Don, thanx for the re-upload.

Don and T. Smith thank you so much for this. WOW! I absolutely love and adore Emmylou( I' m actually having trouble gtyping this, I seem to have a little dust in my eye). Gram and Emmylou were very cathartic for me and mainly gave me the tremendous appreciation for country music I have today.I was into The Rolling Stones when I discovered Gram and Emmylou and they brought me back to the musicians grew up on. The first singer I checked out in you back catalogue when I discovered you was Gram. I don't believe you've done a Gram song in awhile so Please, Please, Please put Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris's song "We'll Sweep Out The Ashes" on your request list. Once again thank you Son and T.

There's a song I've been listening to for years called Boots Like Emmy Lou's. I just found out it was written and is sung by Janis Ian. Life is amazing.

Interesting to see Emmylou being touched by a song while she has touched thousands upon thousands with her songs. Don't know if I've asked previously, but Collin Raye has a song that will fit the format of the channel and it's a touching one too. Consider adding "She's With Me" to your list. It really doesn't have the same impact if you don't do the official video. If I've asked before, just understand that the memory is one of the first things to go. Take care...

This is a wonderful song and it is impossible not to fell all the feels when you see Emmylou reacting. Another wonderful tribute song is “In the Quiet Morning” sung by Joan Baez and the music/lyrics by Joan’s sister Mimi Farina. It’s a tribute to Janis Joplin that Mimi wrote after Joplin’s death. kzbin.info/www/bejne/borFq2SoorGgm8k
