First Aid Kit - Live from the Palace Theater 1/30/2018

With head-banging, strobe lights, and electric guitar solos, First Aid Kit brought a new energy to the Palace Theatre in January.
Sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg just released their fourth album, 'Ruins.' The album features songs that fit the texture we’ve come to expect from First Aid Kit - folksy sounds with beautiful harmonies - as well as expanding the group’s palette to include a harder-rocking sound.

It's really rare to hear music of such a great quality these days. Also their vocals are unique and they sound nearly identical to studio version. I hope we will have the honor to listen to them for many more years.

I will say this again, First Aid Kit is the best thing to happen to music in the last 10 years, Marcus Mumford introduced them to the stage as his musical heroes, that doesn't surprise me.

Loved FAK for years there are others flying the torch for the coruscating brilliance of modern music eg Florence and the machine " Big God" (2018) Innocence Mission "green bus" (2018) LP "lost on you " (2017) Daughter " to belong" (2016) The Kills "black tar" (2016) Dead Can Dance Eleusis (2016) Low - "amethyst" ps my current fav artists are LP, Low Innocence Mission and First Aid Kit (seeing the latter live next month in Birmingham (England)

Agnes Obel , The Kills, Bat for Lashes , Daughter , PJ Harvey etc etc eg listen to "the lakes of Canada " by Innocence Mission and tell me then you think this is not a coruscating track !

Wow, I am blown away by these two amazing sister musicians. I first heard "Emmylou" covered by Darin and Brook Aldridge, very well I might add. Having to know the songwriters it lead me to Klara and Johanna. I am hooked, line and sinker....wow and thank you. Music and tequila are keeping me sane and safe in 2020. Not going to live music is killing me, but this is the next best thing.

Literally, I was at a stop light and heard When I Grow Up from the truck next to me. Grabbed my attention and all I could do was remember one line from the song, then pulled over, googled it, found Fever Ray, then First Aid Kit. Never looked back. Incredible band. They’re just so great live, and their type of music is the kid that sounds so much better with the soul and emotion that comes from being performed live. This is such an excellent recording of a live performance too, really showcases their voices as best as possible. Wolf sounded absolutely fantastic, best version ive heard so far

First saw them at 2011 Polar Music Prize. Made Patty Smith cry. In 2012 Paul Simon gave them a standing ovation for "America". In 2015 ceremony they sang Emmylou for Emmylou Harris and made her cry! Not bad for two young Swedes.
