This is the best example I've ever found on explaining Entropy.

Sir I really admire your efforts you put in your lectures.Just I have one request that please upload or add more analysis of the concepts from practical point of view coz these concepts are available in all the leading books but when indepth questions are framed,we usually failed to answer.Thanks and respect.

Entropy may increase in the universe but your handwriting is NEAT
I really appreciate it- I paid so much for mcat courses, but this is the best way I ever learned, even better than my own bio chem class omg thank you

I am currently studying for my physics final and my provided definitions on the study guide have me incredible confused about the laws of thermodynamics, but this video very much helped. My provided definition was “1: states that if mechanical energy of a system is constant, the increase in thermal energy of that system equals the sun of the thermal transfer of work done.” Idk about you, but that definition really confused me, although, your explanation really helped me and I now understand it. Thanks man.

How is the first law of thermodynamics reconciled with the expansion of space? Since space contains vacuum energy, the total energy of our universe is increasing, right?

Question: The moment you put two non-polar molecules into water, the entropy of the system decreases when those water molecules get trapped around the non-polar ones. What exactly causes the entropy of the universe to actually increase?
@sumananaik21049 ай бұрын
I think the answer might be this- when the hydrophobic molecules were initially surrounded by water molecules, it will decrease the entropy of the system and after a while when hydrophobic molecules are mutually attracted to each other forming aggregates of themselves, it will release much of the water molecules that were initially bound to individual hydrophobic molecules causing total increase in entropy of the system.

I would like to ask why is there a cage effect? If the protein is non-polar and water is highly polar, then wouldn't the water molecules be repelled from the protein molecule instead of forming a cage to surround the protein?
