"As an officer" Words that are missed far too often in the Airforce. You're doing a great job and more officers should follow your lead. You're never too low a rank to lead. As an A1C I'm proud to salute LT's like you ever day. I look forward to it. Never met a bad LT in the AF yet, met plenty of bad civ's working for the DOD. God bless anyone like you.

My DO who’s is a major told me a story once about when he was a Second Lieutenant. His commander who was a colonel once asked him what he thought of a Lt Colonel when trying to find someone to lead a project they had coming up. When asked my DO who was a Lt at the time said “ I wouldn’t trust him, he can’t even tie his boots” He said this because he had seen him walking around with his boots untied on multiple occasions. His commander then proceeded to lift up his pant legs on his flight suit to reveal his untied boots. He told him that the way someone wears their uniform doesn’t effect then mission and is not worth the time to get upset with others over as long as they do their job.

Great videos. May you please provide clarity on AFI 36-2903? Where would one put a combat patch? Is it double on left sleeve? Please provide picture or video for those who were a soldier and now are in the AF. “””Combat patch,” applies ONLY to Soldiers. If an Airman was previously a Soldier in the U.S. Army and was authorized the wear of shoulder sleeve insignia-former wartime service IAW with AR 670-1, they may wear it in addition to the mandatory Air Force higher headquarters patch on the left sleeve.”””

Good evening sir, I am a high school senior currently in AF DEP. I’m just waiting for my ship date so I can join the worlds greatest Airforce. I remember in one video you mention you went to OCS or OTS. My dream and goal is to commission and I had some questions with how to build your best packet so you can get accepted
@Retired_LT5 жыл бұрын
Socrates Rosimo That’s correct, I went through OTS as prior-service. Select civilians with bachelor’s degrees can commission that way too, though I wanna say most go through a ROTC program or the Air Force Academy. Commissioning is an excellent thing to pursue, but I tell anyone interested and willing to listen that what helped me (and my peers who are new lieutenants themselves) the most was our enlisted service. If you follow-through and ship off to Lackland, from the jump, be the best Airman you can be. Learn the basics, learn your job, then find a good NCO at your first base and be their shadow. If you’re a marketable junior enlisted Airman, you’ll be marketable to the officers accession board.

The AFI doesnt do a great job explaining but, I’m prior active Navy and have my aviation warfare pin. Is it supposed to be worn where the career field designator goes? Or is it above the HHQ patch on the left shoulder? And is it in it’s normal black thread or does it need to be converted to spice brown?
@Retired_LT5 жыл бұрын
hollywoodspen Let’s see... 5.4.4.2.5. Award criteria for other services’ qualification badges will be in accordance with awarding Service’s directives. Temporary qualification badges are not authorized for wear on the uniform. [NOTE: Sister Service and Joint badges/patches can be worn in their current subdued color configuration and will not be converted to the spice brown color criteria. Looking at the subdued/cloth version of the pin, its peers would go above the US AIR FORCE tape on the left side with your current job’s badge on top.

This guy is a dictionary example of a pog
@travelinman4823 жыл бұрын
POG= Personnel On Ground? How do you know that he’s in a non-flight status role? You must be a dumb ass grunt who doesn’t know the original definition of the POG acronym. It derived from the Air Force and was coined by an Lt. Colonel who was a pilot. As of today, the Air Force and Navy are trying to get rid of this "elitist attitude” by their pilots that were using this derogatory term towards ground troops. Regardless of job, we are no better than the next guy wearing the same uniform.

Thank God rated officers (pilots) do not wear OCP’s. The spice brown is so ridiculous. You can barely see it. The whole color-way is also so dull and muted. It’s “mirrored” off of the Army’s OCP, but completely missed the mark.
