This animation shows the daily front and total military power of the first Israeli-Arab war.
Background:
Due to the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on the separation of Palestine in 1947, Palestine was divided into a Jewish state and an Arab state.
UN partition plan: Palestine-44% Israel-56%
Later, on 14 May 1948, David Ben-Gurion declared the establishment of the State of Israel, and war broke out between Arab and Israel on the 15th.

As far as I know that they had a large Human pool of Jewish veterans who served in different allied armies during ww2

Large amount of veterans and a very young population, also desperation and fear. By the end of the war, nearly every person of military age was serving in the IDF, some even without proper weapons.
