First attempt at bench rest with the HW100s PCP

This was a fun attempt at some bench rest target shooting in freezing conditions at 25mtrs. definitely not as easy at it looks 😄

Thats fantastic shooting. Your Hw 100 is certainly an accurate and good looking rifle. I may have to give this a try, it looks good fun, especially on a warmer day! Enjoy the rest of your weekend .

Now that is a very very accurate rifle. The HW100 would humble a rifle costing twice the price easily 1st time trying a bench rest target I managed 230 and 3X when using sticks as no bench 😂

Hi Anton, that was excellent shooting, I am fairly sure you cracked the 200 mark which is gold in benchrest terms. My shooting buddy always says as long as you keep all your shots within the black ring you will do well. Did you enjoy it, sounds like you did

Here is a challenge for you ,get a block of wood ,drill a hole in it and insert the front of a dart from a dart board and see if you can get a flat head pellet to stick on the point @25m then if you succeed again at 50m ,did this once with my HW77K but this was many years ago but try it with the HW100😊

@airgunnostalgia4210 good luck ,lighting march heads got bording and putting 5 x 223 rounds through the same hole at 100m did ,but get a pellet to stick on a dart is real shooting lol ,miss my firearms

Beautiful gun, ive got the laminate, i dont know if i prefer the sporter walnut or if i just want one of each😅 might be controversial but the laminate feels awfully plastic😮😂

@airgunnostalgia4210 if you know your rifle is upto it and your ammo is upto it ,it's then down to the nut behind the butt ,we would say ,and don't clean your bore until your rounds start to drift off ,I was told this by a guy many years ago and it turned my shooting around ,I had a custom AR15 straight pull built for £1100 ,I stuck a cheap Zos 40 power scope on it that was £75 and took a lot of stick from guys who's rifles and scopes cost like 5k ,I could see the .223 round hitting the target @200m so I could shoot and adjust without moving my head or rifle ,and I was trained to clean my rifle after every shoot ,but with modern powders there was no need to clean the bore .I had stick for this as well ,but I stuck with it , I was talking to this old boy on the range and said I can't understand why I can zero my rifle in and next time I come to the range it's all over the place again, he said its because I had taken out the fouling from the rifling ,he told me to leave the bore unless my groups start to open up or it's rained and the bore had go wet ,just clean the rest of the rifle as normal, and to his word it was on point everytime, I could get about 300 rounds through it before it would start to wonder off ,then I would just put 2 patches through it ,I even had bench rest shooters say it BS ,I then said to them "what do you do before you shoot a comp" they said "shoot off 10 rounds to foul the bore ,call fouling shots ,I then said there you go ,just don't clean it ,should of seen thier faces when I got 1 ragged hole groups at 100m and walked off with the trophy lol ,I would resize every case ,weight every powder load down to .02 of a gr and do the same with the cases and the heads ,makes a world of difference
