They did this dance before they debuted. It was part of their monthly evaluation in YG Entertainment (their label). They taught themselves this,(choreo by Paris Goebel) same way they arranged Sure Thing cover by themselves and put freestyle in it. They trained for 5-6years before they debut in August of 2016. They had to perform (sing and dance) and be evaluated every month. That’s how YG ent works. Originally they were planned to debut with 9 members but their debut keeps being pushed so a lot of them left one by one. Also, there’s no leader in Blackpink like the usual kpop group. Their CEO thought that since all 4 of them are really close friends, their ages are close from each other and each one of them excel at something, it’s best not to have a leader.

I think this is how most entertainment companies work, unless it's their modeling or acting division, but like what you said, trainees are evaluated on a weekly or monthly basis. If they arent cut to the chase, they will be cut off from the project or demoted back to a normal trainee status (not the ones where they'd be put into the company's future group - please correct me if i am wrong)

Rihanna is very universal, boys and girls do love her, I just wish we could get to a time where listening to music isn't separated by gender 4. Also, I'm telling y'all, you HAVE to check out khip-hop, k-rap, and k-r&b side. You'll love it! Jay Park is where it's at! Dean, Dok2, Zico, and Sik-K are great.
