When I was in highschool in the 80's there was no such thing as too early. My best friend and I would get up at 5:30am in Calgary and continually try to break our speed record getting to Sunshine. Zero traffic, radar detector ON, proper musical accompaniment and we never got pinched despite setting landspeed records through the Bow Valley corridor weekly. We'd roll in to Sunshine's empty parking lot, spend ten minutes burning donuts just cuz we were 16, then we'd settle back and catch 45 to 60 minutes of sleep til the gondola opened. Once you get used being ultra early it's a hard habit to shake.

Dang, dude, that’s some of the sickest skiing this season! Your glades skiing was scary fast! I couldn’t keep up with your lines cause your were having to react so quickly! Looks like the 114s are the shizzle for you in the powder. It’s a pleasure watching you ski. You’re damn good, but still humble. You exemplify skiing for the love of the sport. Frankly, you’re a little off center. Anyone who rides a bike four hours to go skiing is, uh… “special”. 😂 You’re an animal! 🤙

It's still a great mountain with low vis. Other spots with more alpine skiing like Whistler can be a bust when the snow is bad and the vis is crummy. Big White has a great balance.

Like most resorts, weekends can be busy, especially when there's fresh on the ground. But most weekdays are pretty quiet. In the spring (March to early April) it seems like everyone has golfing, boating, and biking on their minds, cuz even on a big pow day, you could shoot a cannon off and not hit anyone. Dead as a doornail. That goes for all the Okanagan resorts.

Try finding the powder bowl, its a bit tricky to find off of the cat track to gem from powder chair but if you find the trail it'll bring you to a bowl with usually 10+ cm whenever it snows. :) Hope you all can find it, dont go too far down in deep trees without a trail to follow or youll end up in gem's cliffs.
