Yes u can buy tree in srilanka from nuwaraeliya but now i dont know how things are as I have settled in Canada since 2011.when I was in nuwara eliya we always keep real tree and send to other places like Colombo, kandy etc

I'm sure that if you go to a shop that sells plants you may be able to buy a natural Cyprus tree. If you grow it in a pot you can bring it into the house and decorate it at Christmas time. I had a live Cyprus tree and I used to do that. Also it gives a lovely smell which will make you feel Christmassy

Once your house is done try growing herbs..you can buy them at Diyatha Uyana on any weekend friday to Sunday. its in.kotte . ( colombo) from rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano plants anything is available Rs.100, 150 a plant. I am sure it will grow well...and you may be able to replant and sell to Galle restaurant's too.they are much in demand.
