My sisters and I used to sing Go Tell it on the Mountain when we were girls! Hearing you brought back some happy tearful moments! Thank you! My mother taught it to us, wrote out the harmonies. Beautiful Christmas in your new home with your family. We just visited Sarasota and enjoyed 80+’ weather. My son and his new wife drove from Miami to Wisconsin to spend Christmas with us and they braved the roads and our -27 to -35 below windchills. Blessings and peace to you all for the new year.

What a great Christmas season. Our church did a Christmas Eve and Christmas Day service, both shortened. But power packed pentecostal service non the less. Our family also draws names and exchanges adult gifts that way also. I feel that it has made our Christmas' more Christ centered and meaningful.

Watching this at the end of Feb. it snowed 2 days this past week so lows in the teens for a couple days. Today it was 65 degrees with snow on the ground. No sweater or coats . Miss having Christmas with family. It was just my son and I. So grateful to see family get together.

coldest winter we recall in Sarasota was 1987..it actually snowed on Christmas eve...i recall clearly as we took the boys outside to see the snow, and youngest wound up in the ER Christmas afternoon with pneumonia...this was the second coldest ever ...I looked for the silver lining...and checked the temps where we lived up in GA for the last 6 years before moving back...and it was 8 degrees not counting the wind chill...thankfully we kept all of our cold weather gear. House looks great hope your holiday was blessed beyond belief

You all worked so hard on this new home and it is beautiful. I admire how much space you have and the flow of the rooms. Especially when you have a larger group. Amazing how you were able to have it functional and beautiful in just one weeks time. Just an FYI: I melt my almond bark on low in the crock pot. It only takes about an hour and works great. So, if you ever run in a pickle or don't have time to stir it, that's another option.

What a lovely video! Made me homesick for my family. Many folks don't know the traditions of the Mennonites and Amish. Family, fellowship, food, help, singing, Jesus,and hospitality are major life points. Pinecraft parade was shortened due to weather, but the tourists from the north could enjoy it. Nick's company didn't participate? Loved Jaxon conducting even with a cast. Enjoyed the fellowship with your family and friends. Was the Amish couple close family and tourists? I love visiting my siblings and cousins in Sarasota. Forget the beach!! So happy your kitchen set-up flowed and worked well with all hands on deck. Hey, Kara! Your coffee machine looked like the highlight of the kitchen. Loved the charcuterie board. With rosemary? Did you gift Christmas Eve? That would make sense with church Sunday morning and company coming. The dining area was greatly planned to add more seating for guests. I really enjoyed the Blessed singing. A day or two before Christmas, here in Nashville, the temperature dropped down to below zero. The coldest I was aware of was 2 degrees below zero and that was the day when the electricity in Nashville went out and my furnace is electric. It was about 10 p.m. which is a bit earlier than I normally go to bed but I went to bed anyway because being huddled under a bunch of covers was the only way I knew of to get warm. I got warm enough that I slept very well and in fact I didn't wake up until 10 a.m. but the electricity was still off. I was trying to figure out what I could have for breakfast that would not need me to use the oven or the microwave or a skillet or the toaster and all I could think of was peanut butter and crackers. I was trying to convince myself that this would be a lovely breakfast and the power came back on. It had been off for about 12 hours and it was amazing to me how quickly my house got seriously cold. It's interesting how much we depend on our "modern conveniences" and how lost we are when we have to do without them for a short period of time. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have made it very well if I had lived back in pioneer days. BTW, when I got up this morning I think the temperature was right around 25 degrees and it currently is 56 so I guess our cold snap has moved on. I will NOT miss it! I loved seeing Christmas in your new house. You have it looking so nice! It looks like you've been there a couple of years instead of a couple of days! You pulled everything together very quickly. I hope you had a very happy Christmas.
