Good video Julian. It's much more difficult to turn with a wide stance. Shoulder width measured form the outside of the feet with driver is a good starting point.

Julian. Cracking vid. No better role model than Langer. Him and Tom Watson(maybe Hale Irwin also) have lasted the test of time and in Bernhard's case he could go on and on. Was very unlucky to not get picked for the Ryder Cup even as a senior when Darren Clarke was captain in my opinion.

Brilliant clip as usual Julian, I have never in all my golfing years utilised a very wide swing, just a comfortable slightly closed stance (close to shoulder width) with the driver and narrower with the irons adopting a more open stance coming down to the wedges. Thanks again.

Wow. This move with the lead knee makes an incredible difference, and it feels so easy to swing. I remember I used to swing like this, before I got 'schooled' out of it. Thank you so much for helping me return to a backswing that feel so much more natural, and like 'my' swing.

Julian, I watched all your videos when you were associated with Brian Sparks. I am still impressed with your videos since you have started Proper Golfing. I am 75 years old and fight swaying in my swing and staying centered. Any tips besides taking up bocce ball?

Thanks James, the principles of The Easiest swing are sound but it lacked some important things which I felt were missing and that’s one reason we parted waves so to speak, a great feeling for not swaying is one of turning around the spine in the backswing. Excellent video Julian. I had the pleasure of watching Bernhard playing in the Seniors Open at Royal Porthcawl this year. My son was working on the green staff for the week on placement. I went on the Friday with my grandson and he got his photo taken with Bernhard, and a few other bits and pieces from some of the players.

It's impressive how Steve hits it at 50/51 its absolutely amazing how bernhard hits it at 65! I'm really struggling to swing within myself at the moment. Been focusing on slowing my body down on my down swing and I can hit it beautifully and consistently on the range with what feels like very little effort but I've never been a long hitter and as soon as I start hitting it how I want to, I push myself for distance and lose all the rhythm and timing! 🤣

It seems you know what you want to do on the course Robert, I’ve seen this many times. Next time you play swap impulse for intelligence, slow is smooth and smooth is long. Reward yourself when you get it right and that way you’ll do it more consistently 👍

Good Spot, John Having your foot back helps with more turn and makes it easier to hit the inside of the ball 👍
