Biggest ship in the story is Frieren and Himmel (I mean, come on, their relationship is the base of the tale), followed closely by Stern (Stark and Fern). But I think Lawinne and Kanne are the third biggest ship in the story. I mean, look at how they treat each other - being that way all this time and never parting?

I gotta say, while it is a really fun arc, I can see some people who loved the first cour of the season finding it a bit jarring. It's still definitely Frieren and Frieren quality, but it does feel a bit more like typical shounen, at least until the final episodes. I saw someone in the comments remark that this is the first ep Alana hasn't cried in for a while, and the whole arc has basically none of the introspective, bittersweet tear jerkers of the first cour. It's a pretty big change from what made people first fall in love with the show. That said, I reiterate that I really like it. One of Frieren's strengths as a show is diversity. It's part of what really elevates it over an introspective show like Girls' Last Tour, which, while very good, is arguably a little one note.

The exam arc is so freaking good. Ubel is one of my fav chars in the show. Even though her name means "evil," she's super interesting. One of the reasons I really like that Fern got in her party with Land lol. So many good characters though with all different personalities and abilities.
