First crack at scratch paper etching on We Creat Vision 20

Bear with us as we get our feet wet with our new diode laser. We chose scratch paper as our first test project; we have seen sooo many incredible projects using this paper and couldn’t get the 100 watt CO2 laser to fire at a low enough power to make a go of this substrate. I was excited to try it.
If you look closely, you can see that we still have some adjustments to make to the settings as the top of the lion’s head is very white and free of the faint gray streaking on the bottom of the lion’s head. You can see the raster path pretty well at the bottom of the lion and we don’t know why it turned out so well on the top half because we didn’t interrupt the etching, it was one continuous run.
