Great machine I have the separate machines and the repeatable precision with Felder 700 series makes a huge difference when producing all kinds of joinery. Thanks for the videos

Totally agree. The accuracy you get is amazing. The 700 is definitely a step up, but i have to say, the 500 was just as accurate, just on the smaller side.

Bryce thanks for the videos on the CF741. I’m looking at upgrading to it from a hammer combination. Is yours single phase? If so do you find it powerful enough on shaping operations?
@brycecomerwoodworks
@brycecomerwoodworks 3 күн бұрын
Hi Andy, My old CF531 was a single phase machine, & the 741 is 3 phase. The 741 has the 4kw motors and the 531 had the 3kw motors. I never actually had any issues running any shaper operations on the old machine, and of course the new machine is only more powerful. You can also get the 4kw motors in single phase i believe.

Can you fit a dado blade on there? I'm figuring out how on mine, it doens't seem to have an interchangeable flench...

Hi Toby, thanks for watching. Yes i can fit up to a 3/4" dado stack on it. There are a couple of different flanges that are used for the dado stack though. Without those you may not fit the stack on if it's more than 1/4" wide. What machine do you have?

Thank you for your answer! I’ve got the CF 741 SP but i don’t think I have the removable flanch… sadly tough

What made you decide to go with a 4-in-1 unit rather than 2-4 different machines?
@brycecomerwoodworks
@brycecomerwoodworks 5 ай бұрын
Hi Aaron, Thanks for watching. My decision was based purely on space. I am a one man shop with only 1000 square feet or 93 square meters of shop space. I have other machines in the shop like a bandsaw, pedestal drill, edge sander, mitre saw, 21 head boring machine, drum sander and 2 dust extractors. There is a small bathroom, along with a small spray booth and drying room. All this makes for a tight workspace, especially considering the shop is only 19'8", or 6m wide. A staircase running up to a mezanine where i have some storage as well as the lathe and my office also takes up valuable floor space. If i am doing any big cabintery jobs, or working on a big order of windows or a big door, space is very limited. The multi head boring machine and drum sander are on castors, but everything else stays in place. I would love to have all separate machines, but simply don't have the space to. The combination machine has a few drawbacks, but if you know the limitations, they can all be worked around.

Would this machine fit through a 60" wide double door?
@brycecomerwoodworks
@brycecomerwoodworks 5 ай бұрын
Hi Steven, it would just go through a 60" opening if the handles on the jointer bed are removed, and the outrigger arm is also removed. Unfortunately this may still be too big without the doors being removed and maybe even the door stops on the jamb removed. Of course if they are rabetted jambs that won't be possible. Taking the casing/architrave off the door jamb and removing the whole jamb though should give you the space if needed. Easy enough to do, & would just require a bit of touch up painting once put back together. I hope that helps.

Hi again @stevensander925. I just realized your question related to the new machine and not the old one. When i replied, i was thinking of the CF531 which is a little narrower than this machine. I don't think you would get it through a 60" opening. I can check tomorrow if you would like?

Thanks for watching @woodzzy1. Here in Canada, this machine starts at about 38k. It then goes up from there depending on what options you order it with. I would suggest getting a quote online from the felder website of your country, that way you will know for sure what it would cost.
