Hey, everyone! Welcome back to our Malaysia travel vlog series. In this video we are out exploring the top things to do in the city of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia.
We started off our first day exploring KK by heading to the City Mosque at sunrise. This is a beautiful mosque partially surrounded by a lagoon, creating a stunning reflection. This mosque is a striking piece of architecture and worth a stop if you are in the city of KK.
After getting some breakfast we headed to another mosque called the Sabah State Mosque. We were able to go inside and take a look around. The mosque provides proper garments if you don't have your own. There was also someone who was there to show us around and told us a little bit about the mosque.
Our next stop was the Sabah Museum. This was a complex with a history/art museum, an ethnobotanic garden, and a heritage village. We might have gotten a little silly playing with all of the interactive props the museum had to offer. This is a great stop if you have kids, want to get out of the heat for a bit, and of course learn a little about Sabah!
We finished off the day by watching the beautiful sunset at Tanjung Aru Beach. This beach is well known for its stunning sunsets and it definitely did not disappoint. There are also a ton of street food stalls, shops, and cafes near the beach. We enjoyed walking around after sunset and trying a few local treats (see bloopers).
If you enjoyed this video like, leave us a comment, and SUBSCRIBE! Thanks so much for watching!!

If you like to explore some forest trekking and orang utans recreation centre, you may go to visit at Kundasang and Sepilok, where it is far miles away from Kota Kinabalu.

I totally agree when you say "Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu is a striking piece of architecture"! As a Muslim myself, I can even perform prayers inside but that's not the only reason I like this floating mosque. Another reason is that Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu is also located exactly in the middle of the highway between my future home (Sepangar) in the north and the downtown of Kota Kinabalu in the south! In sha Allah, once I start residing in Sepangar (to start working), right after moving out of Pitas (my hometown, a district located in Kudat Division in the northern part of Sabah) next year, I would always come to this floating mosque to perform Friday prayers every week! 😇

@@SammyandTommy You're welcome. Oh, and I prefer Tanjung Lipat over Tanjung Aru when it comes to watching sunsets because while Tanjung Aru is everyone's favorite, Tanjung Lipat always give the most beautiful sunsets!
