I went to Leavenworth in 1999, I was 27 years old when I walked thru the doors. My first unit was A2, I think I was in cell 320, front half of the block on the right side. I had 151 months and they put me in with a lifer. Back then they still allowed tobacco but C block was all non smoking, it was the most recently renovated area of the prison, I got moved to C2 , was there a few years then got to C1 which was probably the best block in the prison at the time, I stayed there until 2005 when they transferred all the USP inmates out and I got sent to the new USP Terre Haute. I enjoyed my time at Leavenworth, sounds crazy but back then everyone said it was the best spot in the feds. I got over to Terre Haute when it was brand new and that was a miserable place, a few hundred of us from Leavenworth landed there and we all hated it. You have a good attitude, it definitely helps. I did almost 11 years and getting out was a challenge but Ive been out since 2009, have a good job and haven't been in any trouble. Good luck, Ill try to check out more of your videos when I have time.

Thanks for the comment big dawg! Was stoked to hear that you got out, locked in, and haven't looked back. Sadly, so many other guys can never say that. They broke, and went back in. We are RARE ONES! Had a similar issue with my grandma: when I was in Afghanistan is used to call my grandparents on the pay phone when we would get back from missions. And one time my sweet granny asked me if my unit had been attacked since I’d been there. And the first thought through my head was that I should lie so she doesn’t worry. But this is the woman that raised me and taught me herself not to lie. So I didnt lie. And now she’s been gone for several years and I lay up at night wishing I lied to her cause I know she spent the rest of her life worrying herself to the bones about me man. We never spoke about it. I know I was her favourite boy. Shit makes me cry 12 years later. Only regret of my life.

It's kind of nice hearing you talk about forgiving people that to hold on you and people are wrong to you and how it's not for them it's for you it took me forever to realize that and it's very very important to be able to move on because by not forgiving them people even if they told on you which is what the case was in my situation it's going to continue to haunt you and you're going to continue to think bad negative things like seeking revenge and retaliation and and it's just going to bring you down further and further for longer and longer and I finally did forgive new ones that are around me took me away from my family and got me sent to prison I got to stay on the streets with their family and their kids and it took a while but before I forgive them it haunted me everyday thinking about what I was going to do in retaliation and it made for a longer day in prison and it made for a negative attitude and mindset and with that was never going to be able to progress in move forward in the right ways cuz I had negative thoughts and feelings in my head all the time and after I forgave them and took responsibility for my actions because in reality it was what I was doing they got me in trouble in the first place them telling on me would have never happened had I been doing what I should have been doing in the first place so I forgave and then the thoughts left my head and was able to progress from there so I was really nice to hear you talking about that and reminded me of it

I think God sees you when you accept punishment with grace, and he has mercy on you. God was with me in jail. I was praying to God to get out on my second day, I walked around in the cell and found a book; I flipped randomly right to a chapter named "trust in God's timing". After that, I went to my bunk and prayed. I said to God, "Lord I want to get out of here, but your will be done". A day and a half later I was released on OR. My charges have since been dropped.
