I have lived in Iran for 5 years during my childhood. Those were the most memorable days of my life. Iranian people are some of the most hospitable people on earth. One day my family travelled to a new city and reached at around 9 pm. We asked one of the local random guys where to find a place to stay. He just took us home. That's Iranians for you! Almost every week end, we would be invited for lunch or dinner to some ones house or the other. Iran and Iranians are very different from rest of Middle East.
