1947 से पहले उत्तरी भारत में लाहौर और पूरबी भारत में कलकत्ता संस्कृति का बड़ा केंद्र हुआ करते थे और फिल्म इंडस्ट्री भी इन दो शहरों से ही चला करती थी। इस लिए 1947 से पहले तक ये कहना बिल्कुल ठीक था कि "जिसने लाहौर नहीं देखा वह जम्मिया ही नहीं "। लेकिन अब लाहौर से बड़े और खूबसूरत शहर भारत में बहुत से हैं। अब तो चंडीगढ़ ही बेमिसाल है।

Hello betay Ji, Good question. There are according to the ICF data (2021) around 370-380 functioning Hindu and Jain temples in Pakistan, the total population is around 1.5% . So that means there are quite less i.e 6500 people for every temple . There should be many more at least four or five times. By comparison , Christians have around the same population 1.6% but around 2500 churches of all denominations (Catholics, Anglican /CoP, Presbyterian etc) . I remember back before 1976-77 , there used to be more Hindu temples and churches but gradually after General Zia martial law and entry of intolerant Wahabi type Islamic ideas , the minorities did suffer at many levels. It's a big shame. I wish our present government could improve the position. Let's see after the 2024 general elections in India , which new government comes to power and how contacts develop with Pakistan . That will certainly have an impact.
