I sure didn't get the Tillman reference without hearing it although that helmet should have set off bells and whistles. Then I was thinking about #42 and the figure isn't a goalie so eliminates Esche. Moe Mantha might have been the best known player but he didn't even play half a season. In the time I was living around Philly it was Don Nachbauer, the perennial up and down the minors guy. He's actually the longest wearer of the number. Todd Bergen and his whole drama is probably the shortest. Only a couple of warm ups after the AHL was winding down, then the bizarre not even rookie story playing with Tim Kerr. Most of his games were play off. Then deciding a golf scholarship was more important and never returned for a real rookie year. Strange.
