ADVICE PLS. this isnt my story but its my best friends current situation. what should she do if shes in a relationship her parents dont want her in. shes 15 almost 16 and her parents want her to focus on her academics and things like that which is fair enough. but in my eyes as much as it would be easier for her to agree with her parents she really gets along with her boyfriend and theyve been together for a year now . the upcoming school year is a big one for us (gcse year y11 in the uk) so shes torn on ending things with him. maybe an older perspective like yours would help her. thank you!!!!!

i saw the little end card so my question is it’s my first year of college and i’m also a first gen student 🤞🏽 i know people worry about academics but i’m worried about the social how can i make friends? the first week passed and i don’t know anyone. i did college credits during high school so i’m taking sophomore/junior level classes everyone’s so grown im recently turned 18 and all my classes are with people 20yrs+ (some have said their already married or divorced i’ve haven’t even had my first kiss😭) i have my friends outside of college but i can’t see them often because they are working or are still seniors in high school :(((

Start off with just smiling at people. Don’t stare too hard or for too long tho cuz that can be weird, but giving a quick smile(try to be sincere) started a lot of friendships for me. Just try to be approachable even if it’s not immediately natural to you. If your classes have to do with group projects don’t be afraid to make a joke or talk to people. Friendships in college are often awkward for a couple of weeks but that’s completely normal so don’t get too worried or give up immediately. I know people I didn’t become close to until exam season, it’s a work in progress. But make sure you still choose your friends. It’s good to ease up when you notice their bad habits, don’t wait until you get too close. Even if you only make one friend your first year(what happened with me, I’m still pretty close with her and we get along well) that’s perfectly fine. Don’t worry too much, just be kind and the right people will find you and you will find them.
