Russ, you should do a video describing what your perfect bike would be or close as one can get to the perfect bike. I know you done a video similar but maybe you would update something.

I know I have been watching your videos for a while when I recognize some buildings as you get close to Bussy Woods. LOL That is a nice looking bike. I am glad you can pedal more now. That is good for your exercise. We are getting lots of rain right now. But I am longing to get out.
@RussIsRight9 ай бұрын
I think the loss of 33 lbs (as of this morning) and making the effort to be healthier has contributed to my ability to pedal more. And yes, it's been raining here as well.

That's so true about the step thru. When I told my grandkids why did they get girls bikes they were what do you mean! I said aren't step thrus girls bikes and they laughed at me saying no such thing all there guy friends have step thru bikes. The girls don't really ride the Ebikes. I started taking notice in CA almost every guy has a step thru Ebike. Those days are long gone with guys and girls bikes.

Your number one job when you retire is taking care of your health. Long retirements are far better than short ones.

Nice ride Russ. Congrats on the weight loss. I went 55 miles on a single battery, but I love my dual battery ebike. Most I have done with it was 92 miles which was pretty rough on this old body LOL Did 14k miles on my AWD, hope to do 15k this year if my back gets better. Health problems are tough, NEVER give up 😀

So question...since you use throttle so much wouldn't it be wise to just get a scooter or mo ped.
@RussIsRight9 ай бұрын
No. I often use throttle so that I don’t sound winded when making the videos. Off camera, I often pedal more. Now that my weight is lower and my knee is stronger, I pedal a little more on camera.

I am a curved handle bars guy. I want angle the bars at the ends just a bit. I want to do a 20 mile ride this year. I have done a 16 mile ride last year. I am just not in your league yet Russ I'm working on it.

I recently discovered your channel and I enjoyed your rides especially around Chicago area. What navigation app and speedometer app are you using?
@RussIsRight6 ай бұрын
I usually just use Apple Maps. I have several speedometer apps on mynn by phone but don’t really like any of them.

Good morning Russ. You said that you can't make it to busy woods on one battery. Can you make it if you drop your speed to like 15mph
@RussIsRight9 ай бұрын
Maybe. The main thing is to use less pedal assist and don’t throttle as much.

My next ride will be to Pine Grove Cemetary, Coosa County AL, and back home. It is between 22-25 miles round trip. I'll be doing it on a single battery, 48v, 13A, so will be testing its range. The ride is almost entirely on a dirt road, through the middle of nothing but woods. It is bumpy, dirt, loose gravel, larege rock, ruts, hilly, and everything else you would expect. It isnn't a place to have a break down, or have the battery go dead-not with my knees. I need to wait until my mother gets home, so she can send out a search party, if I don't return. Cell phones don't work in thuis area. The nearest town is Weogufka, population 256. Have you ever watched the movie, Deliverence?
@RussIsRight9 ай бұрын
😳 Maybe try testing your range on a safer area first to see what you can expect for distance. Be sure to pedal as much as you can with a lower PAS level. Throttles eat up batteries faster. Good luck! And yes, I've seen Deliverance. 😊

With my M620 Bafang midrive and 19ah when i do my 31 mile ride on flat ,little wind always pedalling on pas1,going around 12 mph with some throttle at 225 pounds i have 49.9 volts or 70% left .I figure i could manage around 55 miles max

Hi Russ! I was out yesterday on my bike and I saw someone else riding a bike and it looked like he had a rack on the back of his bike that held 2 extra batteries! I tried to catch up to him so I can asked about it but he took off as soon as the light turned green and I couldn't catch up to him lol I was wondering if you knew about that rack I saw and if so, do you have one? Thats 3 batteries that I saw on his bike I was thinking something like that would be perfect for you as you ride to fussy woods or the bike to drive thing.
@RussIsRight9 ай бұрын
I am not familiar with that rack but I would be interested in finding out about it!
