He is a special, extraordinary man. He is not like you or me. All the men of 29th Infantry Division 116th Regiment, and 1st Infantry Division 16th Regiment are heroes beyond belief.

The words EASY RED caught my eye. Dad was 20 and 2 months old on Dday. The only Dday details he mentioned was the landing sector. Landed in second wave on Easy Red. 1st Division 18th Regiment. Made it through but got seriously wounded in Oct 1944 in the Battle of Aachen Germany. Never talked about any of it. When dad was in his 80s (he died at 85) I did ask a general question about Dday and all he said was Don’t ask that type of question. I never did again. Good man, great dad.

My 95 year old grandfather just died last month on the 15th. He fought on D-Day at Omaha Beach in the third wave. His obituary will be in the Washington Times on the 11th.

Thank you for sharing this video with everyone. God Bless those men and women who helped to win that war and God Bless all of our active duty and prior military personnel. It's sad that there are not many left from that generation which makes this video priceless. Thank you again.

Come and stand in memory Of men who fought and died They gave their lives in Normandy Remember them with pride. Soldiers, Airman, sailors Airborne and marines Who in civvy life were tailors and men who worked machines. British and Canadian And men from USA Forces from the Commonwealth They all were there that day To Juno, Sword and Utah Beaches of renown Also Gold and Omaha That’s where the ramps went down. The battle raged in Normandy Many lives were lost The war must end in victory And this must be the cost When my life is over And I reach the other side I’ll meet my friends from Normandy And shake their hands with pride.
