Great video Brian. I don't wanna sell my a7c. partly because its kind of my b-camera, and for the higher mega pickels. but mostly because its such a energy and time consumption to find legit buyers. You did great, but just considering how much time you spent on it, is bananas. BUT it was a great video, loved the story aproach you did here. Excellent video editing. I'm gonna share this video on my channel.

I really appreciate that... means a lot! I also completely understand all that as if I knew how hard it was going to be to sell my A7C, I'd have reconsidered my purchases. However, that being said, I now know how to do it next time, so it won't take so long... Yet, now I have two cameras with 12 megapixels, so that jump in resolution will be huge for me. Whereas, you're right, going from 24 to 33 megapixels does not seem worth it. My main reason for buying the zve1 was to have two 10 bit cameras to cut between more easily... but I didn't think I'd love the zve1 as much as I have though, so I may end up keeping it!

Great storytelling, I felt compelled to watch to end - I wanted to know what would happen! Excellent how you jumped around and filmed in different locations - plus the dates of when you filmed were cool - This video took a long time to make and I loved it - it has a Casey Neistat vibe to it! A video with good storytelling, editing, and titles should get a "billion views because it is a joy to watch (KZbin has to alter the algorithm to reward content like this) - Now you have a dilemma with the FX3 - ZV-E1 and the a7cii ! One has got to go - Stay tuned!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your comment... I was hoping to try to tell a story with a mundane tutorial and wasn't sure if I succeeded or not but at least the attempt was fun. Yet, the fact you picked up on my Neistat-esque vibe I was going for, also helps a lot... So sincerely, thank you! And yes, I have that dilemma, and I'm fully aware of how grateful I am to do so, but I'm going to have to dwindle my cameras down... but now I'm not so worried about selling whichever camera I choose to let go of!

I've been scammed a lot here in South Korea... The most recent one, is my ZV-E1, as you know. It is so difficult to sell things at close to their retail price if the product is in excellent condition. This video is very needed, so people can not be like me and avoid scams! Great pointers as well as how we should upload photos, etc. I thought you were on the toilet when you were boxing your gear hahahaah. I was laughing so hard like, "whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?" hahaha. Great video!

Ha ha... That one shot, I was sitting on a chair trying to show me packing while still being close enough to the mic, so I used my 10-18 for a super wide shot, but you're right, it did look like I was in the bathroom!! Wait, have you sold your zve1 yet!?

Such great advice Brian. I don't have the patience or nerve to use Facebook. The multiple endless messages back and forth with accounts that may or may not be real/serious is such a colossal waste of time. Never again. I have opted to stick to MPB, KEH and BH to resell; low ballers for sure.
@BrianCatalano Жыл бұрын
Thank you, and I completely get that. I'm not sure I'd have the patience again as it took a long time. I sort of did this whole process just to research the topic, but next time I might just go with mpb too!

Lots of scammers selling on Facebook, they banned selling in the groups. Every week someone new gets called out as a scammer.

That's probably the smartest thing to do, as a group... whenever I see a post, I report it. It's really a shame!

Brian! It's been awhile since I've been here. So, it's gone! I still haven't bought another hybrid since selling my a7C. An FX30 has been my "everything" camera lately, which will be my "work only" camera soon. I unloaded my a7C on Kijiji locally in Toronto (it's owned by the eBay people). I've sold everything related to photo and video there for the last several years with good results. I've met a lot of cool people in the process! I'm excited for you and the a7CII!!! It'll probably be an a6700 for me with all my full frame glass now sold (also Kijiji).
@BrianCatalano Жыл бұрын
Hello! Good to see you again... Its been too long on my end, too! I just did a shallow deep dive (I know that's an oxymoron) on Kijiji hoping to find something similar here, but it definitely feels more personal than its parent company eBay. I can see why you sold through them... And I've been tempted on multiple occasions to pick up the FX30 as it's easily the best value cinema cam on the market. Yet, I went for the zve1 instead...and now A7Cii, so I guess I'm as addicted as indecisive! Thanks for coming by and glad to reconnect; I've rung your bell so I won't make that mistake again!
@BrianCatalano Жыл бұрын
Ps. Will you sell the fx30 for the a6700 just for the EVF?
@chosenideahandle Жыл бұрын
@@BrianCatalano Hey Brian! The FX30 is a money making machine right now, so it's not going anywhere lol! The a6700 will definitely be for the EVF and other photo-centric things I've been missing. The main thing is getting something lighter for travelling that I can use equally for photo and video. If I need a second camera for work, it'll be cool having something I can match with the FX30. I do end up doing some photography for work sometimes (I've actually been doing that with the FX30 lately). Macro photography is a hobby that's been lost for me, because the FX30 can't trigger a flash. It'll be cool to get back into that, as well as maybe some off camera flash portrait stuff.
@BrianCatalano Жыл бұрын
@@chosenideahandle that makes sense! I get that as I have the FX3 and ZV-E1, same sensor but completely different uses... But the a6700 is I think the best value camera Sony makes, and seeing you're doing more photography than that will be perfect for street photography and portraits!

Really happy to hear that this helped... and appreciate you stopping by to let me know. I too think I'll go back to eBay as well. I wish selling directly to people was easier, but the minimal savings is often not worth the trouble! Thanks again!

i dont understand on the ebay listing info, you went too fast. I need to rewind. Do they charge more for cameras then say clothes? I put a Canon Rebel on a buy it now for $250 & it was hardly ever used so it went fast. but the first guy was trying to scam by claiming I did not list shutter count. I cant find the count unless I send it into Canon for a fee. I listed a valuable record set & a guy in Korea bought it switched them out for a broken record and got a refund. That happened 2x on ebay! Ebay could not care less. Seller takes the loss. also...Make sure you put the serial# in photo listings.
@BrianCatalanoАй бұрын
Hello, it's a lot of info I know... However, there's an eBay calculator you can use, just Google that term... But I believe the rate for electronics is something like 12.5%. I'm not sure what the rate for clothes are, might be an easy search though... I've also never had a single issue buying or selling on eBay, as I consider that you have double protection by using PayPal as well. My only complaint is the large fee but for me, it's still less of a headache than Facebook or used camera sites who pay you far less.
