I went snowboarding with friends that were rly good at skiing and we went on some ridiculous double black diamond runs which looking back I definitely shouldn’t have done because I only had about 2 weeks of snowboarding experience but it was amazing and I learned rly fast and with decent snow I am now really comfortable on them. Eating shit a few times was definitely worth it.

When I did my first double black run, I tumbled down about half of the run and spent the next half hour climbing up to get my skis and poles back

That’s what I like to call snowboarders hell lol, on skis it wouldn’t be nearly as painful or difficult…ESPECIALLY on moguls

ellstacker adventures sadly its spring so less snow days. Powerline looks like a fun double black diamond with soft snow. It’s a bit longer and steeper

Man I miss snowboarding. In college, I did on average 20 full days a season for 3 seasons straight. By the time I stopped, I could ride literally any terrain or trail possible, chop, ice, powder, double blacks, whatever. I almost perfected my jumps and started to get into tricks because I guess that's was snowboard culture was all about. That was ten years ago. Now that I'm 31, I would kill to go back but I am no spring chicken.

the top part is the steepest, but honestly the hardest part of the run is the low coverage and trees and rocks that funnel towards the bottom

idk if its the wideangle of the gopro thats downplaying the slope of the angle but its only my first season on a board (coming from skiing) & i think i could go down this EZclap.
@PhaseSkater
@PhaseSkater 5 жыл бұрын
its the gopro warping. it looks steep depending on how the gopro is angled. double black diamonds are 40 degrees or steeper. and its my first season too. probably my 10th or 11th time ever on a snowboard in this video
@PhaseSkater
@PhaseSkater 5 жыл бұрын
the biggest issue with this run was the choppy and icy snow and moguls. couldnt really send it. if this run had been groomed, i wouldnt probably just bombed down it with the nose facing down
@ahastar1141
@ahastar1141 3 жыл бұрын
@@PhaseSkater It seemed more like you scraped your way down vs carving your way down. By scraping down, your definitely going to hit more of the bumps in the middle of the board which makes for an awkward bumpy ride
@PhaseSkater
@PhaseSkater 3 жыл бұрын
@@ahastar1141 not to mention i was standing up straight and stiff and thats why i skidded out. def couldve been avoided if i had my weight centered, bent my knees and kept my back straight

First time I ever went snowboarding, my two friends took me straight to a double black diamond. I carved big long carves most of the first quarter, then I caught an edge and took the rest on my back. I did that all day on the same slope and by the third time I went I was faster than my lifelong snowboarder friends; granted, I did skateboard like it was my job for 10 years prior

Not really the right conditions to be doing that on a snowboard, but I'm guessing you figured that out. At the risk of stating the obvious, you want a LOT of fresh, untracked powder under you, or at least, warm, spring conditions with soft corn snow, on a super steep run like that.
